A sign is a great idea. Just need to make it in a way that people will not use it as a target.

Thank you. This will be my 3erd child and 4th pregnancy. We lost one 2 years ago and my wife had to have an emergency surgery to save herself. So this last pregnancy is a definite blessing.

Thank you again and hopefully we will get this place cleaned up.
I will pm you soon.

Just came across this thread, but am willing to help with clean up as my schedule permits. I work many weekends (Sundays always and sometimes Saturdays), but if there's a Saturday I'm off or a particular weekday I'm free (often Mondays, sometimes Fridays), I'd like to be able to help. Don't have a truck, but have no problem working hard to help steward the land we're blessed to enjoy.

Hey guys,
I'll be heading up there to shoot this weekend or next weekend. If there are any spots in particular need of attention, shoot a PM my way, and I'll try to visit at least a few to haul out junk.

I was out Sunday and took a few more bags of trash out. I really need to fix the truck. There are a lot of spots that need some TLC.

Thanks so much Skip_Dog!! Give me a call next time you wan't to go out. If I can possibly make it, I would love to meet you and go out shooting with you. I haven't been doing so well since the heat. Exhaustion/Sun Stroke but I have been working around my property as much as I can, a little at a time trying to get 9 years of mess cleaned up and caught up. So, if my wife decides she want to sell the house and get divorced, it will be in good shape and we can get the most out of it. Whatever it is will be all I have to live on for the rest of my life. But, I would love to go out shooting and have some fun for a change. I can use a neighbor's trailer as well as my truck. Everytime I go out, I have a box of trash bags and take out as much as I can fit and have a bunch of tie downs. PM me and I'll give you my number and next time your going let me know. Take care and thanks again!!

Will do. I think the next time I can make it up is the first weekend of Aug. After that I will have to slow it down. Deer season coming up soon.

Well you guys, if Skip_Dog will PM me, I will give him my number so he can call with a date and time and I will do my best to be there. I will bring mu truck and a trailer and we can have some fun shooting and I am going to call El Dorado County dump tomorrow. I need to talk to them anyways but also getting the ability to dump the loads for free would be nice. In my current situation, money is an issue and I will be speaking with Management and letting them no what we are doing to see if they can give us each an ID od somekind or a certain colored card to be able to dump the trash we pick up for free as well would help a great deal. I am not a deer hunter anymore so I may let you guys do your thing and go to the next spot as I need to sight in a new pistol and a couple lasers. But it would be great to meet you both. Take care and I will let you know what the dump says. If they refuse, I will contact Forestry and ask that they provide dumpters. Don't forget your gloves. I am picking up all the brass I can find as I am either going to learn how to reload with the upcoming law that we can only buy ammo at a State Store or get someone I trust to reload for me. I am not complying with their BS. I would encourage everyone to Support California Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA) as they are suing the state on all thes Unconstitutional GunMaggeddon Laws. Thus far, they have got an injunction on the State from enforcing the Magazine law (Ten Rounds only) even the previously Grandfathered magazines. I have had it with this Tyrannical Government and if Newsome wins the Governor's Seat next year, you can bet every cent you have that this is just the beginning and things will definitely get worse. Read the Articles of the Homeless being kicked out of their shelters so Newsome could allow Shrimp Boy (Chinese Mob Boss) and his buddies to build some incredible Mansions overlooking the Bay. Read the ARticles about how many wives of City Councilmen and other positions that Mwsome has slept with. He is a huge piece of work and doesn't belong in our government at all. He has no Ethics or Morals. It is only about filling his pockets with money from Boomberg, Soros and others that want a one world order just like Obama, Clinton's etc. to destroy the U.S.A and take over the world, money and Power. I hope to God they are all Prosecuted for Treason that they are Guilty of in my Lifetime. The Law still states that they will hang from the neck until dead. I will not revel in their downfall but each one of the deserve to be Prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Everyone knows they are guilt but are not Prosecuting them for some reason. Marybeth they are worried about being shot execution style like others and Justice Scalia, I do not believe for a second that he Died due to "Natural Causes." I believe he was murdered like so many others that were pursuing the Prosecution of the Clintons, Obama and others. Only God knows for sure at this point. I just believe that all these people turning up dead is not a coincidental act.

The NRA is helping the CRPA from their legal team. I personally could not care less about the NRA. Between myself and another guy we spent a couple weeks calling and leaving messages and neither of us ever got to speak to a live Person and between us not one call was returned. I have been involved in other Grass Roots attempts at getting these GunMaggedon Laws thrown out and then a very kind gentleman came up with the money to put together all the petitions and still people in this State wouldn't get off their rears and turn off the TV to sign the petitions and the NRA shows up out of the blue and wants to kick all of us out that had started this and take over and take the credit. That's only my opinion and I saw it first hand and have heard of many other situations where the NRA has done the exact same thing. Personally, I am totally done with the NRA but will support CRPA as much as I personally can. I encourage everyone I talk to to supports them as they are in the trenches trying to get these laws thrown out. The Judge in the 10 Magazine only case has already hinted to the fact that the State doesn't have a chance. I pray that CRPA is victorious and that the Judge (s) in every case believe in the Constitution and Bill of Rights as the Law of the Land and not the Liberal Morons who wants rights for everyone as long as tthey agree with everything the say. Should they have a different opinion than them, our Government is allowing violence and the attack of innocent women and children as recently video'd at the Milo Concert. The Video also shows all Law Enforcement sitting in their vehicles as the Thugs Hired by Bloomberg proceeded to burn the campus and destroy as much as they could. On film, you can see a woman and her 7 year old buy being attacked. That will never be ok with me EVER. The FBI has supposedly been investigating this and the Police Stand Down Order for months and I haven't heard another thing from anyone about it for months. So if your rich and contol the Politicians, I guess you literally can get away with murder in this Country any more. The Rumors all point to the Mayor as the one who issued the Stand Down Order to Law Enforcement. Unfortunately, I haven't heard another word about the supposed FBI Investigation and we are probably not going to. Our Government is forcing the Public into Vigilante Justice as we know that LAW ENFORCEMENT or the Government are not going to protect you unless you pay them more than Bloomberg or someone like that. Why is Obama and Hillary still walking around Free and not Behind Bars when they have blood on their hands and are Guilt of Treason as much as the sky is blue? Who are they paying off is really the question. I wish American Citizens would Protest and write their representatives until Hillary and Obama are Prosecuted!

Not trying to thread-jack here, but just trying to get the word out: BLM banning target shooting in many CA counties, for now, including up in the Motherlode.

Here's my fuller thread: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1358459

That's a bummer, but maybe if the fire danger is that bad then it's for the better. The last thing we need is a forest fire blamed on target shooters.

The BLM is known to close or shut things down, faster & more often than the NF.

Has nothing to do with this. This is National Forest. Not BLM.

BLM is it's own entity. They limit use and add restrictions willy nilly. The national forest are not like that. You can't compare the two.

Default Cleanup August 5th

wasn't sure if I should start a new thread or tag onto this one.

PLINK will be doing a clean up of Bonetti Road on Saturday Aug 5th.
meet in the Safeway Parking lot in Pollock Pines at 8:30 and they leave there at 9 (10 min drive to Bonetti)

For those that are not familiar with PLINK, it stands for Please Leave It NRA Klean. It has been run for 20 years? by Steve Morgan who passed away earlier this year. Steve was responsible for more trash being removed from the Forest than any person I know. The new person running it is David Very and he could use all the help we can give him.

here is the link to the 2015 clean up
http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1038185

If anyone has question on the clean up, the area, or direction please feel free to ask

Rick

I can not make Aug 5th but I encourage others to make it out. This area needs a lot more TLC. I will get back up there and clean up what I can soon. Work has me busy plus I have a new baby on the way. The money now will help in October. Thank you to PLINK and I will look into joining them in the future.

I just hope the PLINK rep doesn't come here again and threaten us with getting the area shut down. That guy was ridiculous. I had to report him to the previous PLINK boss to get the guy to calm down and stop threatening us with having PLINK advocate for a closure of the area to all shooters.

Unfortunately for me I can't solid commit to Saturdays. But I'm up there every Sunday. If you guys put something together on a Sunday I will absolutely take part.

FWIW that person had nothing to do with PLINK directly. He is a local person that was just pissed off at the mess and started belittling those who make the effort to clean up. he even came after me stating I was part of the problem. which is very amusing considering I have never once gone shooting on Bonetti, yet have spent years working on cleaning it up when I can.

The only person that has ever been in charge of PLINK was Steve Morgan until he passed away earlier this year. David Very has the lead now.

Happy to report I went up to El Dorado a couple of weeks ago in conjunction with a family camping trip and had a great time shooting safely in the forest. Called ahead to the ranger's office to verify we were clear to shoot. Yep; green light! Once there, no problems at all.

We shot for about six hours and the only people we saw all day long were a family of five who rolled by twice on dirt bikes. Other than that, we may as well have had the forest all to ourselves. Beautiful. So much fun!

And, in terms of keeping it clean, the site we chose was fairly kept up to begin with, but even so, we did haul out more than we brought in--and I told the ranger station we'd being doing that, too, which they greatly appreciated. Good times all around! Hope to return again soon.

We had about 15 people show up. left Safeway about 8:40 and were picking up trash by 9am.
We hit most of the popular spots on Bonetti, filled a 10 yard dump trailer, plus completely filled 3 other pick up truck beds.
They will plan another one sometime late September

Good grief! That's a lot of junk. Sad. And, great work!
