4 an hour. Cease-fires are about every 15 minutes. The cease-fires usually take about 3 minutes depending on how quickly the folks patch their targets.

By the way, they now give you a 3 bulls-eye target sheet, so even if you don't have paste on dots or a marker, you''re good to go.

Hi,

I heard some rumors that this place is going to be closed down for another half year for another renovation.

Anyone can confirm?

I asked and no definitive date or schedule has been announced. The Sherif's office wants to renovate the rifle range, which wasn't improved during last year's closure, apart from the new backstop (a number of folks here have complained about that).

On the bright side, renovating the shooting benches and RO office won't shut down the public range for nearly as long as the closure when they built the new indoor range.

Yes, closed, but this time for a good reason. The 100 yd rifle range is being completely redone. I was there last night and it's looking awesome. It should be quite a facility when done.

Any idea if Sheriff dept will allow centerfire pistol or if peep holes will still exist after remodel?

I don't know about this month. You never know with contractors and government work, am I right? When I was there 3 weeks ago, they had a new 25ft concrete wall up along the length of the range. It should be pretty impressive when they're done.

It's been slow going but here's a recent photo I got from the club. Looks like they're almost done. I'm hoping they finish before November.

Just being open and my not having to drive an hour and half to get to closest range would be nice. Come on Coyote Point, get it done!

They have started placing lane dividers and finished building the new RSO booth. It will be a really sweet rifle range when it's finished but estimates now are for reopening in the beginning of 2020.

Well, the delay is a bummer but it does look good.

Does the new revamped range have the same number of lanes?

thanks for the updates! i do hope they don't raise the prices or all of a sudden make it "for LEO only" like the indoor pistol range...

That I don't know. I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember exactly how many lanes there were before, was it 20 or 22, of which the first 10 were .22LR only?

That sounds about right. Thanks for the info and the pics. I may have to make a trip up to Circle S. I'd been putting it off but that's pretty much the only game in town for me now. (In SF)

Richmond is closer.

Also, with the new overhead structures, I wonder if we will still be restricted from shooting out of a tiny port?

Me too. I'm hoping the roof baffles means we won't have the "mail-slot glory holes" anymore.

I attended the Club's general meeting this weekend and we all got to check on range progress.

The Bad News:
The county's contractor needs to fix some issues and complete construction. Unofficial estimate is Feb 2020.

The Good News:
• There will be 18 shooting lanes.

• We will no-longer have to shoot through "mail slots"!

• It looks to be the fanciest outdoor range in the Bay Area, when completed. See photos

Nice, they really look like they cared and made it way better than it was. Great news.

We asked at the meeting and were told the Sherif's Range Master will determine whether pistol shooting is possible after they complete construction.

While the outdoor range has been closed, the Sherif's office has invited Club Members to shoot our center-fire pistols in their indoor range a couple of times. So you might want to consider joining the Club for those opportunities.

Took reply from club about membership. Told no new applications accepted until after range re-opens.

Sorry. Probably because all new applicants have to be evaluated by a different RSO's during 3 different range sessions. But obviously, nobody can be evaluated until the range reopens.
