Primers are going about $300 for 1000 pcs at gunbroker. At this rate it's almost the same price as just buying ammo. While I'm still reasonably stocked up, if I do get low on primers I will probably just buy ammo instead of paying these outrageous prices. Even after things settle down, I expect the prices for a brick of primers will probably be around $50-60 each. We ain't ever getting back to the good old days.

Mike at The Gun Exchange on Almaden in San Jose has Remington #9-1/2 match primers for large rifle, he said Reeds has them too but his price is cheaper, according to him, I didn’t check Reeds. $20.00 for a 100 pack, limit one 100 pack per customer, I was there on 5/11/21.

It would appear that the market may be beginning to stabilize.

This is the first time any sizable inventory has carried over for even a few days.

Everything is a bit more pricey there, but at least it’s something to shove in a shell!

Has anyone seen primers In stock recently? I was able to pick up 1k a couple of times at midway back in March but nothing since then

Nope, I’ve been looking as I run my daily rounds at Midway, Powder Valley, Grafs, Mid-South, and Natchezss, and I haven’t seen any! Percussion caps are becoming more available, so that might be a good sign, but I haven’t seen offerings of any type of primer.

I’ll keep my eyes peeled and post up when/if I find any.

I don’t really need any powder or primers at this point, but that whole “thrill of the hunt” thing!

That is one of the few powders I’ve never seen available since the beginning of the current drought.

I have viewed the powder shortage as an opportunity to broaden my load base, and have developed more loads in the last year than I have in the previous 30.

Good luck, and I’ll keep an eye out for you.
