Most of you guys post pics of new blades which is OK but I recently added to my collection with a craigslist score of an old USMC Ka-Bar. From what I gleaned off the internet, it was made between 1950 and 1970 which may have placed it in either the Korean or Vietnam conflicts. Unfortunately, the fellow I got it from had
no history on it. It has some corrosion on the blade but still is razor sharp. I did some minor rust removal and will leave it as is. I will post pics as soon as I can figure out how.

IMGUR is good... upload from cellphone and copy large thumbnail BB link and paste from PC.

I post whatever I pickup even if it is used or secondary market... used to pickup a lot from Blade Forums Exchange.

OK, I’m old. I’m working off an Ipad and I have pics taken taken with it. Isn’t there a direct (easy) way to load onto a forum?

IMGUR app is easy to upload right from iPad.

But the link can't be easily copied like in the PC website as far as I know - type in [img] before pasting the copied direct image link and type in [/img] after and it will appear like below:

Seems like the new release of the S35VN Cold Steel Talwar XL TRI-AD lock waveable tank is well in stock and price dropped like I figured, so I finally picked one up for $155. Not bad. I think my first one was $120 or so maybe and was black blade/OD green.

That initial MSRP listing of $290 or whatever was too high. So, if this price is indicative, the other new knives should have sane street prices.

That's nice EDC pocket knife.

I had a 110 years before and it was too big for pocket carry and eventually gave it to a friend who really liked those style Bucks.

The 55 looks like a nice EDC pocket knife. I think that will be next one.

It's nice, for sure. It borders on being a little too small, but it is nice because it completely disappears in the watch/coin pocket of a pair of jeans when placed in there diagonally.

I'm new to pocket knives (I've always had one or two pocket knives around, but never dove into understanding different steel, sharpening my own knives, etc.) I have a knife with CPM-154 and noticed it's a PITA to sharpen. I've found that sure, the harder steels hold an edge longer, but when they lose that edge they are so much harder to get back a really good edge on them. Every other knife I own is so much easier to sharpen and maintain. I guess if you are on top of it and even just strop your knife after each use you can maintain that factory edge, but man, those harder steels are a real bear to sharpen if you lose that edge for a novice making them not worth it for me at this point.

The 105 I posted above and a moose skinner I have came with S35VN steel. Haven’t used either knife yet so we’ll see how the metal holds up.

Spyderco Perrin Street Bowie... sick little blade.

Question for someone who might know... what's the best way to get these type clips onto MOLLE? (they do not mount up well as-is).

Ulti-Clip actually does insert and close to working, but clasp will not close. G-clip is a no go, too wide.

I want to find either a Ferro knifenook or a wingthing but they are always OOS... or $90 scalped on EBAY.

I ordered some molle loop things and Kabar adapters to try out.

You guys buying Buck need to join the collector club https://buckcollectorsclub.org/
They have some special member only knives and almost 1/2 off on many knives direct from Buck

I added one of these to the collection. http://store.yellowhorseltd.com/buck...ingwisdom.aspx

Do you see the embedded images in the posts, cause that's how to do it... examples:

That's how I usually post...

Works for me the best, but I always upload from the phone and post on PC... I don't like reading forums on phone screen.

There may be a good way to copy a BB code link of a large thumbnail from the iPhone, I dunno.

My coworker offered me a deer today, so I stopped by my LGS and got a new Old Hickory butcher knife. Simple yet effective.
I actually processed it completely with 3 OKC knives.
My XM-1 folder for skinning, the Old Hickory for cutting it up, and the 498 Mk2 combat knife for the heavy duty work.

Those knives in that collection look like they would be great kitchen knives. I like the Kershaw kitchen knives too. KAI PRO, LUNA. They do cut.

I like Buck knives for the basic models. The prices are pretty amazing for what you get. I really have no need or want for the same knife that's more expensive because of an exotic scale or handle material, or one that's make from a super steel that's a PITA to sharpen. If my 420HC blades dull I can easily bring them back to a hair-popping edge.

Buck 112 Slim Select. Really hard knife to beat for $20-$25.

Yes - a 110 for example 60 retail or 41 discounted - the 110Pro is 115 but drops to 68.

If I remember it's under this program. If you qualify you can skip the club membership and just sign up with Buck. https://www.buckknives.com/pro-site/

Those old Hickory 5 knife sets are about $50-$60

Have you seen if they have a steak knife set?

Those 110 autos look awesome. Too bad they are illegal to carry here in CA.

Out of the three in the picture I posted above, my favorite for EDC is that 112 Slim Select. That knife is super affordable, and uses the same steel as the traditional 112 and 110. it's basically the same size as a 112 Ranger, but with w slightly different blade design, and a glass-filled nylon handle that makes it ridiculously lightweight and slim, so it's perfect for EDC. Also uses the same lock back mechanism as the traditional 110 and 112's.
