Preston, I feel you. In the vintage gas pressure lantern and stove collecting world when someone finds a minty! vintage piece and shares photos of the score with his forum colleagues, the cry is:

YOU SUCK!

And, thank you.

^ ^ ^ We did say, in the beginning, that "anything stoked with a lever..."... but...

And there's a thread up about that one, here.

Bob! First time seeing pics of this one (although I did know of it's recent acquisition)... OUTSTANDING!

Nice grain on that stock, too.

splithoof trapper.jpg

MLC colleague splithoof's newest acquistion, a new Ruger Marlin 1895 Trapper! onto which he has mounted his own self a new XS Sights Systems Scout picatinny rail and the XS ghost ring rear sight and white line front post. Scope is a Burris (as explained in the photo).

That is one handy, dandy blaster.

So Chris, I know it's a late notice (all are invited) but a little birdy told me there's a meet up at Phillip's tomorrow at 11am and then lunch and refreshments afterwards....

Is that so?! We'll see how we feel in the mornin'!

I'm listening to GMRS repeater comms from Redlands right now. That's about 60 miles away. I'm on a good GMRS HT. I can't get out, but I can hear.

:radio:

Scratch that. They're also on Channel 19 so it means they're more local, and tx'ing in simplex... I think that's how it works...

I have another appointment at Loma Linda VA tomorrow dammit. The head surgeon only has clinic on Wednesdays - he is teaching at Loma Linda University Med Center or having clinic there on other days. Of course, I don't go every Wednesday but this is the follow up after my hospitalization. My next appointment is the 15th, and I think that is when we will decide on a surgery date unless something happens tomorrow. He is going on a mission to Uganda the same week we are meeting my daughters and grandsons in Vegas ( the 18th through the 25th) so nothing will happen before then.

'gratz Randall!

And to no one in particular...

A .357 lever action carbine is about the most fun long gun one can shoot.

These things at +/-$550 are one of the best firearms values left today.

If I didn't have medical bills, I would have jumped on that, A .357 lever gun is missing from my collection and this would have been great.

I already have a Winchester 1892 from the that was originally a 32-20 and was converted to 357 magnum probably sometime in the 60's.
It won't fit full length 357 mag cartridges through so it's more useful with 38's.
I'm not sure why I bought this Rossi other than it being too good of a deal to pass up so I'm going to use the fact it will fit factory 357 mag ammo as an excuse even though I will most likely shoot 38's in it too.
