atek3, here. Old timey bay area Calgunners might remember me. 14 years ago I moved out of state but I still have many friends in the area. So many new rules since I left!

One of my buddies finally bit the bullet so to speak and bought himself a Mini-14... but he needs ammo. QuarterBoreGunner sent me this helpful FAQ which details the Prop 63 rules:

My buddy will be covered with the Standard Ammunition Eligibility Check, but where on earth can he get 223 in the Bay Area? I know he can't order it from out of state. I know that everything needs to go via a dealer, but right now he can't find any out of state dealers willing to ship to any Bay Area dealers.

Ideas? I'm doing this research as a favor to an old buddy.

Joined a few years ago and come to the forums for info on 2A litigation and have used the marketplace a little. But never really took time to say hello, trying to be a little more involved. East Bay here, Oakland. But I usually like to head to Livermore range or Bird's Landing. I'm a wing shooter, its been a weird duck season this year. Looking to do some pig and deer hunting this coming year. Hello to all.

Welcome. It's a shame we lost the Chabot range... I've gone to Richmond since then, but not since covid lockdowns.

Howdy - have been checking out this forum off and on for just the past year. Left CA for the past 6 years and coming back in December living up in Contra Costa county and thought I'd try and be more active. Looking forward to checking out the Richmond range which isn't too far from where I'll be.

Hi everyone! New to Calguns. New to gun ownership. Sifting through the laws in CA is crazy. Took some time to figure out.

My dad passed away in December and I inherited some of his guns. I went and purchased a Heritage Rough Rider .22LR revolver just so I can become a registered gun owner and buy more ammo...so weird that you have to do that.

Anyways...look forward to learning more!
