Since people are discussing these -
I have a couple of flavors of Privi stuff I got from Target Sports over the years. 120 and 139/140 grain. Do you think that would be usable? Or should I shoot that stuff first in a 96 or 38 first, and reload with a different powder? Does anyone make an adjustable gas part for these? I've not even looked to see if it would be possible, likely someone else looked before me. ![]() After reading about the appreciation of this round long ago, I'd had the Swedish Mausers in the back of my pea brain for a long while and got some when they were cheap in the late '80's or early '90s. Then got the 42b when a friend's soon-to-be-ex got an ex-parte restraining order forcing him to get rid of stuff. I got this and some other mil-surp stuff. There's no local mil-surp matches local, although I do dream about making some of them up north. I aprreciate any advice!

I have always shot the Privi 120gr hollow point "match" ammo, it is pretty accurate but your point of impact is very high compared to the 140gr offerings, so you'll have to adjust for that.
The matches I have shot have all prohibited FMJ so that HP stuff is what I went with. |

The 4064 loads are much easier on the brass and do not eject the shells as far as any factory ammo that I shot.
For reference, I've fired Prvi, 120, 139 FMJ and SP, Nosler 140 gr AB, Swedish surplus, and Lapua 100 and 108 gr. Someone has devised a gas adjustment for the Ljungman which involves replacing a plug in the gas tap off the barrel with a screw. I'll try to find a link for it.

An interesting thread from Gunboards about ammo for the Ljungman.
https://www.gunboards.com/threads/sh...t-ammo.362299/ TL : DR Should probably shy away from M41 and even commercial ammunition.

PMC usta load 140 gr sp that I used in mine for hunting years back. It was in the SILVER class of rnds they make. These guns can handle 6.5X55 off the shelf ammo I got in gun stores in Cali. They were for combat if Sweded got in the WWII festivities with Finland vs Russkieland next door. If you do not figure out the slam bam bolt cover release you will need a few new fingers.
