Not rare as, they make new ones, but I'd like a 9MM Gatling gun. PAX

I guess if I had to think about "odd antiques" the old revolving palm held pistols, like the one I linked below, come to mind. I would never pay that price and I would prefer someone make a modern one that fires modern ammo but then it wouldn't be an antique would it.

I really want a wall gun. One of those giant flintlock guns. They're almost comical in size.

For me, an original, pre-1899 Mosin-Nagant M91 or a Mauser 98 made in 1898. Both are legally antiques and just would be doggone cool. Both also shoot cartridges that remain popular today, which is doubly cool since brass is easy to come by.

I picked up a Liberator repro a few years ago so, while not an original, after +40 years, I finally have one I can shoot. I'd love a set of seabee gloves someday.

If I had a nice piece of property somewhere,,,I would like to have a real cannon. One that goes bang. A breechloader maybe, so I can reload blanks. Place it next to my flag pole.

I don't know of antique breechloader artillery that would be large to leave out. You would need to jump through NFA hoops on any breechloader made post 1898. A frontstuffer isn't even a "firearm" per ATF and even CA DOJ. I use to display a full sized muzzleloader but, it was too much trouble to keep loading and unloading it form it's trailer. Now, the one here just sits on the trailer ready travel to wear it's needed.

I have every make/model of semi-automatic revolver ever made and different variants of each EXCEPT the example made by Union Firearms Company.

I had bid over $8,000 on one a few years ago (stopped at $8,500 as it wasn't worth more than $5,000 max in the first place) and even that was well over a logical asking price. It sold at $9,200. (It's no Webley-Fosbery, and kind of ugly.).

Yet, I've always still got my eyes out for one.

CSA, I bought a Liberator replica as well. Always wanted a real one but this I can actually shoot once in a while without worry, and is 1/5 the cost. One of my favorites, and describing the history to folks is fun.

...I'd love to find one of the Liberator shotguns too, although I know that's about zero chance. I'd be interested in a resin replica of one.

"Revovling turret..." peaked my interest and sure enough, the sales pitch included the very understandable passage statement below,

Quote:
These guns were not popular as one cylinder of the turret is always aimed at the person firing the rifle!

Girandoni Air Rifle. Lewis and Clark had one on their expedition. It's a .46 cal. or .51 cal. 20 shot mag tube fed repeater that's effective out to 150 yards. Fully pumped it could launch 30 shots. It was Waaaay ahead of it's time.

The Girardoni air rifle is my top, too. The gun on the expedition was Meriwether Lewis's personal rifle which he loved, but also understood the propaganda purposes of. A great tragedy of the expedition is that Lewis was so worried that he was going to be forced to pay for all of the IOUs he incurred on behalf of the US government that he sold almost everything from the expedition within around a month of its end. So we don't know what became of his rifle, specifically.

But if it's not a Girardoni air rifle, it would be an Apache revolver, of course!
