Default Ruger Ranch bolt gun in 5.56 w AR mags... thicker butt pad?

I have a new Ruger Ranch bolt gun in 5.56 (the version using AR mags).

I wouldn't mind if it were just a wee bit longer on the buttstock - does anyone know
if there are thicker buttpads available that 'fit'?

Note: this isn't for recoil recduction! :-)

Is the buttpad on there removable? If so, may be able to make a spacer and reinstall with longer screws.

Thanks - this was an 'open box buy' sale so may've been missing things.
I had a gun and a box.

Ruger ranch does not have removable buttpad.
Try moving your scope forward.

Baih777...

Sure as hell looks like it could be removable. Don't have it at hand right now, but there are two
Philips screws embedded in two holes on the buttpad.

Also this is not about scope placement - I am just a big guy (6'5", long arms, big shoulders) and
could use a longer stock. I specifically got my Shiloh Sharps 45/70's LOP fitted to me - was worth
the trip to Montana.

I remember years ago they used to make slip on recoil pads. Anyone know if they still make them?

I've never heard of them having stock spacers. They specify lop at 13.75" which is too short for anyone 6 ft or taller.

The 22 lr has long and short pad, maybe that's what you're thinking about.

You can get them at Walmart for cheap. I have several. easiest way to take the bite out of a gun you don't want to alter.

I would think you could have someone make you some polymer spacers, or make them yourself.

I had a brain fart and conflated the magpul stocked version with the original (didn't look carefully and mixed the 1st 2two posts together). Yes no spacers.

I made a set of spacers with a sheet of delrin for a shotgun. Wasn't too hard.

The pad probably has a step around the edge for it to seat into the hollow stock so adding flat spacers probably wouldn't look right.

I think you'd have to replace the pad with new one and add spacers, but all that could make it butt heavy.

I saw a photo of Ruger American Ranch Rifle that had an A2 stock trap door butt plate ground to fit the stock. I liked the look of it but it I think it made the stock shorter!

Sounds easier to just have his arms shortened.
