Default AZ CCW, ok to carry in Nevada?

Where is fine to carry in Nevada with an AZ ccw license? Everywhere? What about posted no-guns areas? In Casinos?

Yes.

Look up NV statutes
Here: https://rccd.nv.gov/Resources/Carry_..._(CCW)_Permit/

No gun signs hold no force of the law. If caught, you will be escorted out or will have your firearm checked in (if you’re staying in a resort).

Just remember that under Federal law, you can't carry in a Federal GFSZ unless you have a permit issued from that state (NV in this case).

Apparently a person can carry concealed in NV with an AZ permit:
http://www.ccwusa.com/ccw-permits/mu...te-ccw-permit/

I'd want more specifics as to which specifically posted-no-gun-area or casino is being considered. Generally, if told/requested to leave one's firearm outside or to leave, please do so.

Here's another website for folks to browse regarding Nevada's laws/rules:
https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/res...p/nv-gun-laws/

A NV resident can't CCW with an AZ permit. If you are a resident they require their own NV permit.

You can carry just about everywhere. No firearms sign are not enforced. You will be told to leave or if you're in a casino asked to check it in. Don't go to hoover damn it's federal property. Be careful some places have metal detectors or wands. If you plan on going to area 15. They will let you in the building but you will be wand to go into stores or places. Have fun, lay low.

Don't know how Fremont st is. If you go let us know if they search you.

In Nevada...

It is not legal to carry on school property, on college/university property, and on child care facility property.

Posted no weapons/firearm signs have legal weight when posted at the entrance to Gov owned/operated property/building.
Note that several convention centers, concert venues, and other open to the public business are owned or operated by local NV Gov agencies, so posted no weapons/firearms signs have legal weight at those places.

A private property owner/representative can ask anyone to leave their property for any reason.
^This includes carrying a firearm inside a business that is open to the public.
Failure to comply can result in an arrest for trespassing and/or being a public nuisance.

Also under NV laws...
A person BAC must be below 0.08 in order to legally be able to possess/carry a firearm.
A person that uses or possesses marijuana, can not legally own or possess any firearms/ammo.

And generally not legal to carry on tribal land. You'd be surprised to find a lot of that. Various strip malls and shopping centers. In Reno, the Walmart Supercenter across the street from Grand Sierra is tribal land.

Not sure about this. If you have a permit from one state that is recognized by another state, you tend to be considered to be licensed in that state during your stay there, thus not violating 18 U.S. Code § 922(q)

It's the constitutional carry states where I think there could be a technical issue, which depends on how the constitutional carry law is written. I have read some of them that explicitly declare that you are considered licensed when lawfully carrying. Others are less clear on "being licensed". However the (q)(2)(ii) bit of "and the law of the State or political subdivision requires that, before an individual obtains such a license, the law enforcement authorities of the State or political subdivision verify that the individual is qualified under law to receive the license;" is a lot harder to get around with permitless carry

CSA is correct though. However, I have yet to see a case brought forth where one is cited for that.

You have to be licensed *BY* that state to carry to be exempt from GFSZ

ATF Opinion

Quote:
(B) Subparagraph (A) does not apply to the possession of a firearm—

(ii) if the individual possessing the firearm is licensed to do so by the State in which the school zone is located or a political subdivision of the State, and the law of the State or political subdivision requires that, before an individual obtains such a license, the law enforcement authorities of the State or political subdivision verify that the individual is qualified under law to receive the license;
And plenty of people have been convicted on Federal GFSZ busts, here are just a few

They won't ask you to leave if you're in a casino unless you're causing trouble. They'll take you to the back and you can store your gun in a "safe" and pick it up when you leave.

That opinion from ATF is not surprising. As noted in the opinion, the ability to carry for permit holders is an EXCEPTION in the statute, and the general rule for interpreting statutes is that exceptions are construed narrowly.

Me and the wife went there this past March just to see what it is all about. I packed while I was in there, no metal detectors in the casino and food areas. We didn't get a room, we live in Henderson, so I don't know if they have detectors at the elevators, but my guess would be no.

Nevada is open carry legal. No license needed.

I was there the week after that illegal stabbed those women on the strip and they had a random metal detection check in the middle of the Fremont st experience. I simply walked around it.

LOL. In the summer of 2019, they had similar, I simply walked into a casino and walked out on the other side of the metal detectors.

If you go to Fremont Street and can't go around the detectors, just approach the LVMPD Officer standing there with your CCW in hand, tell him you have a CCW and are carrying, show him your permit, he/she will look at it, and if it's valid he/she will have you walk around the detectors.
Casino's are private property, most have no weapons posted, but unless your printing like a neon sign or being an idiot you won't be noticed by anyone. Worse case scenario is they ask you, then escort you out and advise you of trespassing. If you are staying at the hotel, Security will ask you to follow them, and you will be required to leave it with Security during your stay.
I carry all the time on and off strip, masinly off strip, we rarely go down there unless we have out of towners staying at the house. I have yet to be approached or have any issues.
There is another thread on carrying in Las Vegas here https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1731293

Wife and I are going to Las Vegas this Friday for a wedding on Saturday. We go several times a year. I carry my LC9S Pro 9MM everywhere I go. The Venetian, Paris, hotels along the strip with certain restaurants or gambling areas we explore. Never a problem. I think the “No Firearms “ signs are to protect the establishment and comply with their insurance liability carriers rules.

It’s funny that during Shot Show they seem to be more stringent with firearms when practically everyone associated with Shot is packing something, courteous and extremely law abiding. The rule is keep on the down low.

Years ago, there was a period when NV stopped recognizing AZ non resident CCWs. At the time I lived in LA City and only had my AZ, UT, FL and OR non resident CCWs. I went to Carson City and got my NV non resident CCW. A month later, NV recognized AZ non resident CCWs again.

Moral of my story, just get as many CCWs as you can. You never know when a state will drop another state reciprocity.

The same thing happened to me ..I got Arizona...then Nevada dropped Arizona..went to Vegas and got my Nevada permit..then Nevada reinstated Arizona..I let Nevada expire...at that time Nevada also dropped Florida, in which Nevada reinstated 7/1/2022..so now Arizona, Utah and Florida covers Nevada....it pays to have multiple permits ..you'll always have coverage ..

I live in Nevada and still got an AZ Permit. You never know when a state may drop another state. $60 for 5 years isn't a bad deal, and you are still covered. Now if only Cali would recognize NV or AZ. I contact my NV State Rep, was told NV will not recognize Cali until Cali recognizes NV, so I go rogue.
