Some commentators argue that the seven letters to the seven churches in Revelation 2 and 3 have relevance to the first-century churches to which they were adressed, but also that they apply to specific periods in the history of the church. In other words, each of the seven churches were literal churches (now, gone, disappeared), but also representative of types of churches which would be found throughout the 2000-year-plus history of the Church.
In the letter to the Church of Laodicea, which seems to be addressed to the modern church, Jesus says "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me." Regarding this letter/verse, one commentator writes: "All six of the previous churches had at least one word of commendation, but this church has none. There is nothing commendable in this church, as it is an entirely unsaved church. [...] Verse 20 emphasizes that the Messiah is outside this church, knocking. Jesus is not in any way within this church, for it is a totally unsaved church. The exhortation is to any individual in the apostate church to hear Messiah's voice and open his heart to Him, and then Messiah will enter and they will have fellowship. It is another exhortation to salvation." We know from many passages that the last days will be characterized by apostasy. We know that we are commanded to work out our own salvation in fear and trembling. Consider that some of the most jaw-dropping judgments recorded in scripture occurred before there was scripture (Noah's flood and the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah). Consider that it is a clear teaching of scripture that knowledge creates responsibility (passage upon passage teach this: 2 Samuel 6:6-8, Matthew 10:15, John 15:22, Romans 2:12, and many others). We live in a "free" country with an average number of around 4 Bibles per household. How much more are we liable to judgment than the people killed in Noah's flood and in Sodom and Gomorrah? We have the entirety of God's revealed Word. Should it happen that the relatively modern notion of a pre-tribulation rapture is incorrect, and it becomes clear that the Great Tribulation is, in fact, an experience which will be shared by the members of the visible and the invisible church alike, can you imagine the apostasy that will shake loose? I shudder to think. But as for the church in north America, I would not be surprised at all to look back in a hundred years and see that Eric Metaxas was correct: we are at an inflection point right now, by and large the north American church responded incorrectly, with silence, without courage, and we sowed the wind and reaped the whirlwind.

You do realize that this whole homosexual marriage slippery slope ignorance you show was predicted long before homosexual marriage was passed into law. Those who were sounding the alarm have been proven to be prophetic. What have we seen happen since then. A large contention of homosexuals grooming in the public school system (as well as heterosexuals, just primarily homosexuals). This was really brought to light thanks to in home learning. A large contention wanting to ruin confused kids lives, by pretending one can change their sex. You are issued the chromosomes you are born with and cannot change them. The best you can do is play pretend. A man will never know what it is like to be pregnant, have a period, or reach menopause. He can only play pretend. A woman will never know what it is like to have a functioning penis, or get a woman pregnant, they can only play pretend. Of course the naysayers will bring up the oddity, the hermaphrodite. Obvious numbers are obvious numbers and they are not even statistically relevant. The sad part is, you can no more change your sex than you can your species. If I have a pouch and a tail surgically attached to me, it no more makes me a kangaroo than I was before. The same for the sick mutilation and pretend play that the trannies do. they need to be treated clinically, not mutilated and abandoned. WE have watched powerful men such as yoel roth petition for kids to be allowed on grindr for his and other adults sexual pleasure. We have watched Disney petition for sexualizing grade schoolers in Florida and put out shows with homo kids that flop everytime. Why they want to sexualize kids is beyond me, but there you have it, Disney is filled with groomers. We have seen a homosexual create a Homo romcom that bombed and then blamed heteros for not wanting to watch a bunch of homos. Normalizing deviant behavior is never going to normalize deviancy. It won't be long before the people who love something want to marry the thing they love. I hope you know how ignorant you sound, you undermine your own position with that level of stupid

Not a judgment on your faith, but the state of the North American Church's faith was revealed during covid. Most churches still stayed closed and did not even open up for Easter in April. I grabbed a couple of my boys and we went around visiting people on Easter. Some would let us in, some would keep us on their porch. It was sad to say the least. I remember traveling to California and going to a church that was worshiping outside with masks on. The irony of the song they were singing "This is what freedom looks like" I think it was lost on them. The good news is this really weeded out a lot of the chaff and showed us which Churches thought obeying God and His word was more important than obeying dot guv. This is not a judgment on any one Church it is a corporate judgment.
