That's not a "bad" transformation at all. Kinda nice. I don't care for the buttstock that much. But the rest is nice. B.

Just added some finishing touches. Sling and paracord wrapped the lever.
Might add a quick take down screw to the lever but for now its ready for the field.

Just fantastic!! Great job all around.

I've got an old Winchester 30-30 that I want to do this to, but it seems there aren't many aftermarket parts compared to what's available for Marlins. Drag.

** Sitrep….joined a Marlin group. Took the mag spring out and realized it is waaay to long for the shortened tube. With some trial and error, I now have a 5 +1 rig. And it loads much easier with the shorted spring.

Cycled 20 rounds with no feeding issues so called it good.

OP, your build inspired me!!

Decided against trying to mod my spare Winchester 30-30.

Finally found a Marlin Trapper in-stock. It’s on the way to my LGS.

Haven’t decided if I’ll Cerakote the stainless in ODG, or leave it alone and ODG the add-ons, haha!!

OP, I’m not sure if I should thank you, or swear at you for ‘making me’ do this, haha!!

I just sent my Glenfield 30A to the OP's gunsmith yesterday. Basically cloning the OP's rifle but a different color and optics I haven't decided on yet. Can't wait to get it back!

OP, sorry if this is upthread, I didn't want to read every post in the thread.

However, I have tried and very much liked this allegedly drop-in trigger for a Marlin. Worth considering, far superior to a factory trigger, even one with years of wear/use.

It was drop-in for the rifle I tried, which was made by Marlin in the 1990s.

They very loosely interpret the phrase drop in. Every part I’ve tried from them would not work with my remlin. Not saying it’s their fault, it is a remlin, but that is my experience anyways.

Good to know. I’m using the one from Ranger Point and am very happy with it. And it too was a drop in fit.

I just jailed a new Trapper a few days ago, and will at some point install the XS rail and ghost ring rear sight. I plan on mounting an intermediate eye relief optic, ala “scoutish”, and will carefully imbed a short section of rail in the left front of the forend, for a small, but powerful light. A sling, and a cheek pad that will hold a few extra cartridges should finish it out.

Nice!! They sure are hard to find at a decent price, haha!!

I ordered some of the Ranger Point Precision stuff (stock, foreend, muzzle brake). Decided to keep the matte stainless and go with sniper green for the add-ons.

Also got the XS Lever Rail, but not sure what optic to go with. I’ve got a few LPVO’s lying around. Should be a cool project!!

I still have another Leupold 1.5-5, with Firedot waiting for a rifle to hang under. It’s an IER, and I’ve had great results on a few Ruger GSR’s with that optic.
If I ever take it to school, I’ll rattle-can it whatever color for the week, and wash it off when I’m done.
Looks like it’s about time to fire up the lead pot, and cast some bullets.

I thought I was going to hate it, but I must admit, I think it looks pretty neat!
