During freedom week I was able to find only black dog 32-round 22lr magazines. Turns out they do not work well with cmmg’s evolution upper. Has anyone figured out how to adjust them to make them work more reliably?
I’m considering using Dykem and filing off the high spots when I work the action. Before I start removing material, I wanted to check if anyone has made them work. |

Cannot help as I have never tried the BD 32 rounders.Love their 50 round Drums though...But take a look at this thread over on the ARFCOM You might just have to replace your Bolt maybe to the older style CMMG Bolt.. Good Luck

Thank you for the link. It turned out that the problem I was having was due to the magazine lip-ejector clearance. These magazines have noticeable vertical play and when at the top of the range, the mag lips nearly touched the ejector.
After putting tape on the magazine to keep it at the bottom of its range of motion, I encountered no failures while shooting 240 cartridges. Previously I would encounter at least one failure per magazine, so this is a significant improvement. While tape is ok short term, I would like to find a more permanent way to reduce vertical movement. These are the magazines https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1006319365 |
