Default Who is NOT voting?

Looking at Newsom in particular....he got 3.1M votes for and 2.3M against. That said, records show over 5M registered Republicans in CA (now the Dems have 10M which is no shock).

But, why the heck aren't the R's voting? If most of the registered R's would vote, he would be out.

This is just one race...but there would be others. I just don't get all the complacency? I would assume those that respond here likely have voted...but do you all know some that aren't? And, why not? I always here "it doesn't make a difference" or "the Dems have the majority" but it clearly would have made a difference in at least this race.

Thoughts? Doesn't help now but maybe next go-around.

Maybe they did vote and it takes up to a week to throw all those republican votes in the trash at highly private hush-hush election processing centers so the democrat wins.

Maybe people are scared of getting jury duty, maybe people are too lazy to vote, maybe republicans don't have faith in the CA election system and don't want to waste their time voting, maybe people are afraid their info will get leaked for voting republican and others will harass them for it, maybe republicans feel that they don't need to vote because everyone must be tired of Newsom and want him gone so they are absent assuming everyone else will vote him out, maybe nobody even knew anyone was running against Newsom due to the lack of campaigning/advertisement/commercials/publicity for Brian Dahle.

I truly think a lot of republicans just gave up hope in this state, didn't want to waste the gas driving to an election center, and didn't even know about Brian Dahle until it was too late.

I don't recall seeing one commercial for Dahle. Many may not have known there was another option. Not only have many of the voters given up in this State as Xplosiv3 said, but it seems like the Party has, too.

I gave up on any Republican winning any statewide held office. Our vote means nothing other than protest that's it. We are outnumbered at least 2 to 1 if not more now.

I vote as my form of protest and flipping the bird to Democrats.

It's apparent that Democrats can do anything they want to the people include making it extremely difficult to make a living here and survive. Yet time after time they pull that lever for the Democrat. Until the pain is too much it will continue to be the same every time.

Lets see what a clean voter roll entails. I bet 500k have either died or moved out of state by now.

Also Lanhee Chan for Controller was endorsed by LA and SF and still lost.

I think at this point, all candidates should not have their party affiliation and see what happens.

Eligible voters who don't vote...they are STUPID and have no place complaining when things don't go their way. If you don't vote, you're not exercising your duty. Anything else is bullcrap as far as I'm concerned. There is ZERO excuse for not voting. Get off your lazy butt and get to the ballot box.

You know it's funny, in 2018 I requested a military overseas ballot 4 months prior to the election.... And never got it. It went to my HOR and didn't make it to me in time. Come 2020 my voter registration was purged and had to vote provisional.

But nothing to see here, move along...

What surprises me is that people in California can see what the policies and management disaster there has been for years, complain about it then vote for the same numbskulls that are responsible for ruining a once great state.

I am so tired of all those making excuses for people who fail. How can you not know there was another option? Everyone own got a sample ballot in the mail. Everyone got a vote by mail ballot in the mail. All anyone had to do was look!

Stop freaking making excuses for losers and start holding their feet to the fire if you want to change things. Being polite has not worked, do you want to keep on doing it?

For decades, if all republicans voted, they would have won.

I would guess voter roles have not been purged in decades.

2018 election I went to vote and my brother and I lived in the same area. As the guy was looking for my name in his registered voters book I helped him find it. As I found my name I noticed my brothers name under mine, twice. Once as a Libertarian (which he is) and the other as a Republican. I asked my brother if he ever registered as a Republican and he said no. Our last name is very unusual so I'm pretty sure it wasn't someone else.

Yup. I didn't see any ad for him. Election ads are powerful on changing or at least shaking people's minds. I've seen some Democrat ads shaking some Republicans's minds. GOP at the federal has abandoned CA at the governorship.

Well, if everyone votes including the registered demonrats, we still lose. Too many people want free stuff.

I vote every time, but that doesn't change the fact that we are behind enemy lines.

I don't have an answer for Kalifornistan.

Even though my vote makes absolutely no difference in any statewide race, at least I can take solace that my district is sending an R to the House of Representatives. R's going to the state houses too, but that unfortunately does nothing.

Small victory.

When it takes more than a week to count a local district you tend to lose faith in the so called electoral process.

I didn't. See my Voting Guide. I just didn't see any fringe types on the ballot, or even any worthwhile GOP. An excellent case can be made that Trump lost in 2020 solely because he failed to deliver during his term and his "base" stayed home in droves.

https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1828080

Trump won in 2016 solely because the rest of the GOP was so constantly ineffective for generations.

IIRC the GOP for CA Governor is 110% pro-Vaxx, which means he was 110% defacto pro-forced Vaxxed for children and anyone else except of course himself and a few top officials.

PS-my Poly Sci experts tell me that for math, psych and science reasons attacking candidates, or referendums, even those supposedly on your side, is at least 10x more effective than supporting/promoting them to the General Public. I think if you knew what to look for you see the Radical Left doing this. Your run of the mill "Public Schools are a good thing" old school Liberal will be attacked by insane perverts if they don't support forced genital mutilation of children, and it seems to work. Kinda makes on wonder what the "social dynamic" is in very different Old World cultures. Is it truly supported by majority of is it something that gets successfully pushed by a tiny group of insane people?
