PRE-SHOW RALLY IN VENTURA THIS SATURDAY, OCT 23 AT 8AM!

Ventura Fairgrounds
10 Harbor Blvd
Ventura, CA 93001

This battle over "gun culture" is rejoined this weekend at the Crossroads of the West Gun Show and we NEED YOUR HELP! CRPA's Pre-Show Rally kicks off at 8 am this Saturday and we want to show up in droves to support for gun shows.

As you know, gun shows are under attack from all sides. CRPA has already filed suit to stop the gun show ban in Del Mar and we will soon do the same in Orange County. When we turn out in BIG numbers, we show the politicians and the mainstream media the breadth and depth of California's gun owners and what we stand for.

Yes, you do need to get involved!

Our next VCGO Chapter meeting is next Thursday, Nov. 11, Veteran’s Day!

Our speaker lineup, still evolving, will be veterans, including Mike Lazarus, a veteran of the military, as well as law enforcement, who is an instructor at California Tactical Academy you may know and/or have trained with. He’s also on the faculty at CSUN and Ventura College. There will be other speakers as well.

We will be giving out free flag lapel pins to all veterans who attend – our way of saying thanks for your service. Please come, and bring a veteran friend!

It's not necessary to register, but suggested to register so we can plan for numbers: https://crpa.org/event/ventura-count...erson-meeting/

Also, our next Youth Event is coming up on Wed Dec 1st from 6:30 to 8:30PM
Event: Simulator / Shoot House
Ages: 13-18
Location: Triggerburst, 3537 Old Conejo Rd, Newbury Park
Instructor: Mike Rowan
Cost: $30 per student

Lastly, we have new SWAG!! Just received some new 'trucker' hats and polos embroidered with our logo! Hopefully the new tee-shirts will arrive by Thursday too! Every item purchased provides $10 to the organization that helps fund the legal battle to keep our 2A rights!

Hi there Ventura County! Our next VCGO meeting is next Thursday, Dec. 9.

So this month our guest speakers are 3 FEMALE Firearms Instructors!

Please come and please invite any and all women you know to join you. All women who attend will receive A STARBUCKS GIFT CARD!!

Default CRPA Meeting Thursday 1/13/2022

We have some great speakers lined up for our January meeting!

Rick Travis, CRPA Director of Development, along with Kevin Small, CRPA Advocacy and Outreach Manager will bring us up to date on the important things CRPA is working on right now.

Sondra Venus of Super Spectrum FFL in Thousand Oaks is coming prepared to answer all the questions you always wanted to ask but were afraid or didn’t know who, to ask. Like:
When is an FFL required?
Who can have an FFL?
Can an FFL buy a gun from anywhere?
Can an FFL deliver firearms? Etc.
Come prepared with your questions!

Glen Griswold and his son Trent Griswold. Glen is another amazing gun culture guy with a bio too long for this email. Some highlights:
ROTC competitive award-winning shooter in high school.
Two tours of duty in Vietnam including Sniper Platoon.
College degree in Geology, worked for an electronics company ultimately up to president of a division.
Reserve Deputy Sheriff in L.A. County for 40 years including patrol, traffic, and range officer.
Retired in 2018 after selling a business he started in Camarillo.
Now working with his two sons at Griswold Brothers Gunsmithing.

Glen will be talking about his Military, Law Enforcement, CCW, and gunsmithing experiences.

Glen’s son, Trent, was on the hit History Channel show Top Shot, where he shot everything shootable with some of the best shooters in the world. He’ll be sharing stories from that experience, among others. Here’s a taste, but be careful, highly addicting: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EcBEuHOjeLc

It promises to be another very entertaining very informative meeting!
Doors will open after 6pm and our meeting will start at 7pm and finish between 8:30 and 9pm.

Register here: VCGO Chapter January 13, 2022 Meeting Registration

See you there! Tell a friend!

Default Next meeting, Thursday Feb 10, 2022

Our guest speaker is Jim “Dead Eye Red” Redman*. In Jim’s presentation he will:

• discuss and show examples of the guns made in 1873;
ð Colt Single Action Army, “Peacemaker” or “Frontier Six-Shooter”;
ð Winchester lever action model 73 rifle; and
ð the US Springfield Rifle caliber 45, “45-70 Springfield Rifle”, or in today’s terms, the “Trapdoor”.
• He’ll share the history of their development and usage as well as how they were handled, carried, and maintained.
• For show and tell, he will have several holsters and cartridge belts, scabbards, and a carbine sling. You’ll see mounting configurations on saddles as well as the cowboy gear, clothing, and boots common to the era.
• Lastly, he will go over some of the differences between Hollywood movies and reality.

So it’s time to Cowboy Up for this competitive Single Action Shot Society shooter!
(Don’t know what Cowboy Action Shooting is? Here’s a great article from Guns Magazine: https://gunsmagazine.com/discover/co...-shooting-101/)

As always, our meetings start at 7pm and go until 8:30 or 9pm. Doors open early if you want to network or socialize with like-minded people. See you there! Bring friends!

Be safe. Shoot straight. Fight back!

You're more than welcome to join us until a chapter starts up in your area. Our monthly chapter meetings are held in Westlake Village so it wouldn't be too far of a drive from SFV.
