I am in Sacramento county. Interested in buying a gun online from the infamous Buds gun shop. Curious to hear from anyone who has done this. At what point do you reach out to the FFL to do all the background check paperwork? Is it before you even order the gun, after you've made the purchase online from Buds, or is it after the gun arrives at the FFL? Lastly, if anyone has a recommendation for a specific FFL that is friendly to this process, I'd appreciate the referral. Thanks.

The staff here have always performed flawlessly. Be sure to check with them before purchase.
I believe it's $75 for out of state xfer. https://shop.thegunrange.biz/range-info/ They have good inventory and prices. |

In Sacramento, I've found The Gun Range (on Watt, just past I-80) to be the best place to have guns sent to for transfers.
The way I've done it, is: Order the gun, then email The Gun Range your info and the receipt. They will contact you when it arrives, then you fill out the paperwork as if you were purchasing from them. They charge $75 per gun now (pre-covid, it was only $25) + $37.19 for DROS. Depending on where you are in Sacramento County, maybe try Sierra Shield right off Highway 50 in El Dorado County. I have used them several times as an ffl for gunbroker purchases and it always went very quick and smooth.
https://sierrashield.com/ My experiences at The Gun Range previously suggested have also been good, just keep your head on a swivel in that area! |
