Is she already outshooting you?
![]() (Somewhat serious question because if you're ever taken a woman shooting for her first time they all seem to shoot uncannily well) |

It’s good to start them off right…..nice job.
Just wait until they become teenagers and they purloin your favorite handguns… Hahaha. Get ready to build each of them an AR. My daughter took her AR to College. Be well Bob

![]() it takes a lot of time, practice, and patience with kids but certainly paying of now ![]() and interestingly enough, about 75% of my collection is intended for them already ![]()

They don't come to class as know it all's because of what they've seen on TV or in the movies. My wife took not a little money from a buddy at our hunting lease in Texas. She was using a Winchester pump in .410 shooting clay pigeons. ![]()

It’s actually fun to hear my young adult kids bargain in a friendly manner over who is going to get what from the SplitHoof collection. My daughter didn’t take an AR to college, but the school of “Uncle Sam” made sure that she gets LOTS of practice in. Best part is that I don’t have to pay for all that ammunition. Both mine started out very young, and were collecting brass at the club long before they could actually shoot. Sure is nice to see your kids take after your interests, and be all about it. I must thank my squaw for encouraging it all along as well. Merry Christmas y’all! |

Priceless photos OP. I was about the same age pop coached me on the family’s H/S sport king and Nylon 66… I still have the M66 (60 years later). My boy ( now 39) got the same schooling. I always smile when when he handles any gun as he immediately clears the weapon.. good job dad.

Here's a pic of my daughter, after she went Distinguished Expert the day before her tenth birthday. This picture was published in the NRA magazine. At 15, she went DE with pistol. She is now 26 years old. My oh my, time flies.
We used to run a nice youth program at USI, called The Musketeers. Micheal Pass was in charge (may he rest in peace), and I was one of the coaches. We ran a lot of children through that program, and got them started right. ![]()

I wish our schedules and location provided more opportunities for organized shooting activities with my kids.. but I'm certainly planning to get them more involved in the not too distant future - down to <4yrs in pension prison!

Coaching our younger generation is an absolute must. Sometimes I’m fortunate to provide instruction, weapons, and ammunition to properly orient young folks headed off to boot camp, so they at least have some familiarity with the basics of safety, gun handling, and marksmanship. It is a great way for us “old guys” to contribute, as often the younger folks may not have the financial means to practice much. Oh yes, time flies too fast! |
