I'm a fan of Peterson. I wish him well.
There's a lot of complex philosophical contemplation going on with him, but coming to Jesus is very simple. The first thing that came to my mind was what Jesus said about having childlike faith: Luke 18:17 (ESV) "Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” I was also reminded of the children's song: Jesus loves me this I know, for the bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong, they are weak but he is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. The bible tells me so. Jesus also had a simple message to Nicodemus, a learned scholar: "Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 Uneducated fishermen without PhD left their nets and followed him. The Gospel message is very simple: For God so loved the world that he gave his only son. Whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Peterson said he was terrified at the thought of living his life with the full belief in the existence of God (paraphrased). No need to have it all figured out and be perfect before accepting Jesus into one's life. Just have a childlike faith.

“And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” intelligent people (mostly) are on the same boat. it gets in the way in spiritual conversion. 1 Corinthians 2:14-16 NKJV But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
