Default Last time at Canyon Sports

The last time I went to Canyon Sports was about 3 years ago. Despite all of the negative reviews concerning the bad "customer service", I had never had a bad experience. However, I had a problem with my S&W N-frame binding, so I brought it to them on a Friday afternoon. I was told the owner is a very knowledgeable gunsmith, so I decided to give him a shot.
After dropping it off, I was told the owner will be in on Monday and will give me a call after he looks at it. Monday passed and no call. I called them on Wednesday and was told the owner was not in, but will call me the next day. On Friday afternoon, I called again and was rudely told that "if the owner hasn't called me, then the gun is not ready". Im sure the person on the phone did not have time to actually see if my gun was inspected because her answer was immediate. Since I was driving back from Sacto, I told them I would just pick it up and bring it to my regular gunsmith. When I arrived about 1.5 hours later, I was told the repair was completed and cost $60 or $80. The price didn't offend me and the problem appeared to be resolved. However, they even chewed me out for being impatient. I did not argue the point, but it was at that moment that I resolved to spend my money elsewhere in the future.
Fast forward to 3 weeks ago. My revolver started binding again, so I brought it to my regular, and competent, gunsmith. Upon inspection, he showed me that someone replaced the pivot pin for the hand with a non-factory pin, which had a thickened area which held the hand away from the trigger (like a built-in spacer). Additionally, the pin did not fully engage the far side of the pin hole. The pin slipped out and could not be driven in because of the built-in spacer. While their "repair" worked for a few hundred rounds, it will now cost me more time and money to have it repaired correctly.
While the pre-pandemic selection of firearms was pretty good, I am fortunate enough to be in a position to spend my money at places which are not rude nor incompetent.
As the title indicates, "my last time at Canyon Sports" will be my last time at Canyon Sports. I guess it took me a while to discover what most others knew.

Never go there. You're better off calling Satan. They are horrible on all levels

I was a regular customer on and off for years, found some
used items not easily found in CA and decent deals on new.

It sucks that a store with their inventory have to ruin it
