Default Bonetti Road closed

Went up there this morning and posted area closed due to fire danger no trespassing by SIerra Pacific Industries for further information call 530-635-5663. Called the number @730am might of been too early for them. First time I’m encountering this sign.

Hmmm. Nothing on https://www.fs.usda.gov/alerts/eldorado/alerts-notices where they usually post all stuff like this.

Well, there is a lot of land out there in EDNF to go shooting. Go past that road, and more shooting places the next few rights.

Sierra Pacific Industries is a lumber producer/harvester. They could have closed the road due to logging activities. The EDNF website still shows target shooting allowed.

SPI California Forestlands Close to Public Access on June 21 Due to Drought and Wildfire Danger

Due to extreme drought and wildfire conditions, Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI) has closed its California forestlands to public access, effective Mon, June 21. This closure will remain in effect until further notice. Public roads that are on SPI forestlands will remain open, but no walk-in access will be allowed. For those looking for maps of SPI property lines, there are several third-party applications available for purchase.

they did this last year as well. all of SPI lands are closed to public use until the fire danger is over (figure late September).

for Bonetti, that would be the first two areas on the left, those are on SPI land. there are more areas about 6 miles back as well, but most do not go that far. Also Snowmill just up from Bonetti is SPI land as well.

I fully expect the Forest Service will close the area to shooting later as well. I almost hope so, as I am tired of picking up all the trash left there.

Just went up to Bonetti this past Monday and it was all open and quiet.

Took about 3 large bags of trash home with me but the area could still use a solid day of TLC.

Thanks for the update! Have a few new AKs to zero in. Tomorrow sounds like a good day with it being cooler.

It needs a big clean up again. So many shotgun hulls, targets, garbage and steel casings. I cleaned up in my area but only had so much time.

Whole area is virtually closed right now due to the fire. Blocked off and due to the winds shifting tonight, it may burn west of Mormon emigrant road. Exploaded to 30k acres.
