Default BLM land to shoot at in Butte County CA?

I just read a post about BLM land and safe shooting. Anyone know of BLM property in Butte County? More specifically, reasonably near Paradise or Stirling City?

Also, what are the rules regarding shooting on National Forest land?

not sure about blm up there in paradise but if you do a quick search here on Oroville shooting range then that might be your best bet. wish I had enough ammo to play at the range!

I have shot a lot on forest service land, just make sure there is a hill behind your target, also I do not shoot on forest service land in the summer because I don't want to get blamed for any fires. I just go to the Oroville range in the summer.

I've heard about the Oroville range though I don't know exactly where it is.

Do you need special permission to shoot on Forest Service Land? And is National Forest and Forest Service Land the same thing?

Take 99 or 70 to 162. Take 162 east from 99 or west from 70 to Larkin Rd. Go south on Larkin Rd past the airport to Rabe Rd. Turn left and follow Rabe Rd to where it turns into Timothy Rd. You will be at the entrance to the Oroville Shooting Range which will be on your left. Be careful, while most users observe gun safety, do not be surprised to se some nut cases.
