Default Anyone in San bernadino able to help a fellow cal-gunner o? Glock 21 slide is stuck!!

Hello fellow Cal-Gunner's I'm new to the area, I moved from San Diego.

So my resources and tools are almost non existant, from my searching and researching it seems that gunsmiths are hard to find and the one's I have talked to charge alot!

I've watched every YouTube video I could find, have read every thread I've came across... it seems that I'm having more trouble with the fix than I should.

I have a glock 21sf (4th generation) , that I was doing a (G20) barrel swap on.... and when I was putting the slide back on I somehow misaligned it and the slide is stuck (connected on the back rails only)

I'm not sure if the guide rod unseated and that's causing it to stick or if it's something else?

I know it's a huge ask.... but if anyone with glock knowledge or even a "kitchen table gunsmith " could help me I would be forever grateful!!

And ofcourse I'm not asking for free help, I just cant afford the rates I've been told in the area.

I can travel/drive to you (I live in chino hills and work in Rancho cucamonga) but if in the area I have no problem driving elsewhere. I'd have no problems buying beer, lunch, or ammo.... or any other fair compensation!!

I've been on calguns for a few years, but haven't posted much.... I'm not sure how to post pictures... but if they're needed I can email them or find a way to post.

If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it!!

Thank you for your time!
-Steve

Already taken care of in less than 15 minutes.
And includes shooting the breeze.

One 7 lb sledge hammer
24 inch pry bar

A few magical 4 letter words.

I have almost all the pieces, it seems.

Just kidding.
Was a pretty straightforward issue.
Recoil spring had dropped out of place and was preventing the slide from being removed.
Small screwdriver to reseat the recoil spring and then simply disassemble as normal.

I did lube the heck out of it as it seemed dry to me.

Calguns:

" Members helping members. "

Just joking, I tip my hat to both of you. A person smart enough to ask for a little bit of assistance and the person generous enough to help.

Thanks for the offer sealocan!

But yea Old Marine saved the day (as marines always do!)

I was definitely concerned, but he was a (G21) life saver! Now I'm itching to find and take it to a range badly!!
The mishap happened when/because I swapped in a G20 barrel 🙂

I have ALOT to learn regarding firearms, so I'm on calguns frequently. (I've encountered way more upstanding people than I have "bad" people on here) even being new to the area..... I knew that calguns would be my best bet. Prior to making this post I went to Turner's (chino hills location) to see if they could point me in the right direction, they referred me to a gunsmith in riverside....where I was given an estimate of $150 and a 30 day turnaround 😳

I've always felt that kindness and decency is contagious.... people like Old Marine just reaffirms that to me!!

Thanks again Old Marine!!!
