Finally got my second pig and first ever with a rifle. Weighed about 175lbs.
I spotted it at over 700 yards walking across a ridge and stalked to within 23 yards and found it asleep. It was kind of weird as it looked like a rock out of place and I could see the ears, closed eyes and nose with the Leica range finder but when I threw the scope on it I really couldn't tell. I kept the scope on him for about 10 minutes waiting for my hunting friend who kept going up the hill (he didn't see it). In anycase, he came across a nice boar weighing about 350lbs and took his shot at 35 yards. When he shot, mine jumped up and began to run and I shot him at 20 yards. Couldn't tell if I hit him or not as there was no indication or blood so I ran up the hill to see if could get another shot. By the time I saw him he was already rolling. Still went 100 yards or so.

Congrats on your piggie. Ive had friends that have literally walked right up on them while they were sleeping. Pretty crazy. Where were you guys hunting at?

Nice albie day indeed!
I am really hoping we get the water temps we need up here this year. Nothing more fun than PLUGGING the boat on 2 bait stops.
Regards,
Mike

Below is one of our better bait stops a 2 years ago...
4 guys and total pandemonium for 20 mins.

FYI, it is NOT DFG behind the cat ban. It was voted on by the population of CA (prop 117, 1990?), overridding DFG's ability to place a season on the cats. Thank PETA, HSUS, ect for the ban.

Yes Sir! My blood starts pump'n seeing pictures like that. A few years back, fishing on the Tracer, myself and 4 others caught 146 albies on one single drift. Not that I am counting, but 44 days until I leave on another 17 dayer.

Nothing to brag about, but the hunt was exciting. My brother shot this bear at 6 yards on a spot and stalk hunt.

That's a great looking elk. That is cool that it was taken on public land.

That's not 4 deer, it's 2 deer. I saw Harry Blackstone do the same trick on the old Dean Martin Show with 2 goats and a hankerchief

some ole lady ended up with the piglet. That little bastard kept me up every night for a week! It slept through all of the jobsite noise all day. Would wake up every once in a while and start screaming until it found me on the other side of the job. It would scold me for a minute then plop down and fall back to sleep.

Alright well these arent spectacular compared to some of your awesome trophies, but they were fun times.

Personal best rainbow out of a local creek:

There are actually 4 quail, hard to display with one hand though... lost 2 in the bush:

On April 7, I went hunting with my friend John {maschronic} Here are the pigs we shot. We hiked for about a mile on top of the mountains and decided
to glass the area. We sat on the ridge. About 15 minutes later 5 Boars came out. I shot the pig downhill with my Remington VTR bolt action 308 caliber at 180 yards. It was a lung shot, I than followed up another shot which was a head shot and he died. My friend John shot his pig at about 160 yards. My pig weighed in at 250 lbs & John's weighed in at 200lbs.

We had a great time taking these pigs

Wow, So I found these pictures of us waaaaaaay back. Anyways, I thought i should share. Brings back alot of memories!

A pic of my bro-n-law holding my FISH! It was caught on a 8' GL Rod with 8lbs test.

A stergon we got at the delta: He was small, but just enough to keep. That day we did catch a 7'5" but had to release it.
