Afternoon Ladies and Gents,

Just wanted to stop by to see if anyone has received a proceed to training letter recently.

I live scanned in July and have not heard anything since. Not sure if I should reach out to our sherifs office or if I should just continue to wait. Any advice?

Thank you all.

Sit back kick your feet up and relax, renewals are now taking over two months to process so I suspect new are 6-9 months. My initial took over 9 months start to finish.

Am I suppose to turn in my application packet before my interview or the time of my interview?

I don't understand your question. If you fill the application out online, you obviously have to submit it before you get an interview date. If you are not doing it online, then yes, you have to submit the application before the interview.

Just completed my interview. What’s wait time after livescan process? Might be a dumb question but have to ask.

ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT!! Just got my proceed to training. Any specific outfit you guys recommend?

The options are at the link below. I'm thinking Blueridge Consulting but open to recommendations.

Thanks.

8 min. As it states on the website. Also when you go to training they will ensure you get this amount as well

Anyone know if solano county allows off roster pistols on your ccw permit? I have a Glock 43 and p365 hoping to get my ccw after my address change takes affect.

As long as it’s not registered as a single shot pistol and is registered in ur name you should be ok.

@tranvi04

I have multiple off roster on my Solano CCW. Should be just fine as long as there are no mods other then night sights.

So would a new aftermarket barrel be considered a modification?

Is there anywhere that I can find more info about what mods are okay. I've looked all over Solano sites to no avail.

I ask because I just took my class with BRC today and the instructors there told me that red dots, triggers, and flash lights were all good to go mods. The RO, who informed me is with the Sherriffs dept., even recommended a trigger to me....?

Thoughts?

I emailed deputy pinder a few months ago regarding mods/upgrades and he said

"the weapon must be within manufactures specifications, we allow you to put on night sights and grips."

I was also told only night sights, grips and that everything else must be OEM. I know that is an open to major debate but I’m just satiating what I was told.

Default Any recent Proceed to Training

Based on HBadger89 posts, it looks like it took them 3 months from the time of his Livescan to send out his Proceed to Training letter for a new permit. Anyone else have a recent experience? Did my Livescan on 10/28 and hoping (based on his posts) to hear back by late Jan/early Feb. Holiday's will probably delay things more but just hoping by Feb.

I've done a few Livescans to volunteer at my kids school and unless something is reported incorrectly, I can't think of any reason I wouldn't pass this part. Am I off or is this the last thing that you need checked off before getting approved? Meaning once you complete the phone interview and I don't do something stupid, it's now based on what comes back from my Livescan right? I know about assuming, but would they allow you to the Livescan part when they're still determining if you're of good character?

Thanks!

Generally the biggest obstacle is the interview and livescan.
When I went the deputy sent me right over to do the livescan. The operator went home for the day ut I made an appt for the next day and took care of it. Granted this is all pre covid.
If I rememeber correctly it was about 2-3 weeks between the application and the interview. I interviewed dec 12 2019, livescan dec 13 2019, proceed to training near the end of march. Completed training April 18. Issued April 30

I sent off an email after waiting a month since my livescan. After reading this thread, I think I'll relax a bit.

I have my interview on 1/5/2001. I think it's going to be by phone. Anyone have phone interview yet? How’d it go. How long was it?

Had my phone interview back in August. Considering some of what we needed to discuss on my application I'd have preferred an in person interview but probably really doesn't make much difference in the end. Anyway, I suppose it went well. Only lasted about 5 minutes before being told I met the statutory requirements and to proceed to livescan. I did my live scan 8/24. Still waiting on next contact but I was also told my background will likely take a little longer than most.

Default New to solano county

Hey all!! I’ve been a long time lurker on this forum and this is my first post. Just moved to Vallejo last week. I was wondering when would be a good time
To apply for ccw? Someone told me I had to be a resident of the county for some time before doing so

The Sherrif requires two months of proof of residency via utility bills, etc., so it's safe to assume that two months residency is required.
