Default DROS QUESTION.

Hi first time asking for advice from fellow cal gunners.

I had ordered a receiver from out of state that was CA complaint and was drosed to me successfully. After finding a compatible parts kit to assemble the featureless rifle I had to send it back to the out of state to the ffl from which I bought the receiver due to specials tools required to assemble the rifle correctly. I was warned by my ffl once the rifle was shipped back to CA it will have to be re drosed. On my tenth day I’m waiting for the rifle I was notified by my ffl that the DOJ put a delay on my dros. I asked my ffl why they did that and he couldn’t give me answer. He just told me whenever they take it off, I’ll call you. I honestly have never had this happens to me I’ve bought multiple firearms under all the same information. Hope someone can help me :/

Default DROS QUESTION.

Um, no. I’m pretty sure if the owner sends a firearm for repair or modification then it does not need to be re-DROS’d — and in fact can be sent directly back to the owner without going through an FFL.

It’s probably on hold while DOJ figures out why two firearms with the same serial number are being registered to the same person.

Thank you sir for your informative reply. Hopefully the doj contacts the ffl to clear that issue soon.

Default DROS QUESTION.

This is for the people asking what type of rifle I got. It is a Tommy Built receiver model: TG36 on a GSG9 G36k German parts kit chambered in 5.56. This is my first rifle.

Buy a receiver from Tommy Built Tactical online and find a ffl that will dros it and buy a parts kit from hk parts. Send it back to tommy and don’t make my mistake. *Capesh hk acquired.
