Received CCW permit on Wednesday.

So from the day I took the class til I received the permit was 4 days.

I love Placer County, especially the PCSO!
Same here, I took my renewal course on saturday, submitted the renewal online on Monday, had new permit in hand on Wednesday. It's crazy how much they've streamlined things around there. It's almost like they're the Amazon Prime of the CCW world.

I hear rumors of people getting FN 5.7 pistols on their ccw's in Placer County. Can anyone confirm this? Their website says calibers are limited to. 25-45

Since it is outside the range, most likely, if it was approved, it was by mistake.
When I first tried to get my 10MM on my permit, I was told I couldn't because it was outside the allowable range of 25-45. After speaking with a supervisor, the caliber was allowed. I think sometimes the less common calibers can cause confusion.

Either way, I would suggest getting clarification from the Sheriff's office before spending $1200 on a gun.

When was that? I've had a 10mm on my permit for 5 years and they've never hassled me about it

It was around 3 years ago. There was no hassle, just the person helping me did not know what 10mm was. Probably had never seen it before. I am guessing that not too many people put a 10mm on their CCW.

Isn't 10mm smaller than a 45acp? Therefore making it within the accepted range of calibers allowed.

That's probably true. When the interviewing officer saw the weapons I wanted listed, he made a comment about it being pretty rare to see 10mm.

Ya that's why he was telling that story, to illustrate that maybe sometimes the person doing the ccw paperwork misunderstands what diameter a metric caliber translates to in inches.

I like protection plus tactics in Loomis for training. He's a good guy with a good class. You don't watch videos and just kill time. He also has his own private range.

I did a modification to update my address after moving and I submitted my request online on 4/6/2020.

I didn't hear back until 4/30/2020 that it was approved and received my new permit in the mail today 5/2/2020.

Default CCW PLACER CO

so my question for those who have done it is :
What is the most efficient way to apply for a CCW in this county ?
Don’t want to spend money on the safety/qualifications class to be turned down at the application process.
Thanks in advance.
