Default Bolt Recommendation

I recently picked up a VDI Lifecoat Low Mass Bolt Carrier and I'm trying to figure out which bolt to go with. There are a ton of options and it doesn't really seem like there's a consensus.

To round it out, I've been looking at a few bolts, but I'm lost as to whether there's any significant benefit.

So far I have:

- Sons of Liberty Gun Works, C158, shot peened, MPI, HPT, ~$65.

- WMD, 9310, NIB-X, MPI, HPT, ~$65.

- BCM, C158, shot peened, MPI, HPT, ~$75.

Is there really any benefit to one over the other? It's being paired with a Criterion barrel.

No, all the choices you listed will perform equally well. BCM Is my personal choice. Pick one then go have fun burning up ammo.

Not sure if you have a barrel yet but Faxon will match headspace to barrel if you buy both bolt and barrel from them. I’ve put probably 1000 rounds through my Faxon bcg with no issues.

The best bolt is made from Colt followed by Franklin Armory. Those two are proven and follow the original specs.

If I recall sons of liberty has a lifetime warranty. But let's face it 99.9% of the guys here will never shoot enough to break a bolt.

I ended up grabbing a Daniel Defense bolt since I heard nothing but good about their products and their support.

The Sharps XPB looked interesting too. I may end up grabbing one and letting the DD as a backup.

There is a thread on arf.com by the guy who runs a range in vegas, he has listed which parts he uses, as I recall DD was GTG.

Their guns get shot A LOT.

I've always heard good things about DD and they recently won a DoD M4 carbine contract, so I figured they were G2G. I also know they make most stuff in house.

I found a lot more recent negative stuff about BCM, so I decided against them.

The XPB or Relia-bolt still just seem so interesting to me.
