I was put on to the pew scene by all the great information Reno May put out, and I really appreciate all the great information everyone provided here.

I went from having nothing to a CA7 and two p/w 13.7" Aero/Ballistic Advantage builds.

Been an outsider gun enthusiast for a long time and I’m finally in a position in my life where I can purchase fire arms without any spousal or family drama.

Hi all! I was introduced to this site by a local shop where I received my first firearm recently. Looks like a great community so I look forward to learning and maybe contributing at some point.

I've been somewhat of an enthusiast for decades. Shooting since early high school days or maybe a bit earlier but never got around to owning my own until now.

One of my favorites that has stuck out in my mind since the first time I shot one is the Sig P226 (specifically the .40). Because I now have a family to think about, I finally decided it was time to buy one last year and ordered one but waiting since. I now learned that it seems like Sig has stopped producing the 226 in .40 so I may never get my order which led me here. I really hope I can get the 226 .40 at some point but if the shop can deliver the 9, I can learn to "settle" for that but no hurry. I will be learning more and testing out the AR-15 I have in hand so that should keep me busy for a while.

Be careful, a number of scammers have been showing up recently.

226 in .40 shows up once in a while, but nothing wrong with one in 9mm either.

When in doubt, we usually suggest getting both. (Only partly seriously)

Thanks Garv! I've been browsing the sales section and there one poster there who has a few listed but he seems to have some requirements that I've never seen on a for sale ad so I might just wait and see how it goes.

Both sounds great but more practically, I might want to put the money towards something different like a shotgun. Then I'll have rifle, handgun and shotgun and have most bases covered, lol.

i haven't bought firearms since 2017 (?) so it's news to me that sig is no longer making .40. like you, i like .40 too. it's my home defense and range toy. hoping you get yours soon.

Thanks Barang! Yeah, it just feels right to me when I shoot it. I'm sure it's something I can get over but you know how it goes when you get your sights set on something.

yeah! i remember when i was on a hunt for all stainless sig, kept checking the market section and gunbroker until one popped up on gunbroker (.45) first then calgun's (.40) market section. bought a couple of p229 .40 here on calgun's too so it's another option to you for your future buy. just be patient and keep checking everyday.

And thanks for the encouragement Barang! I’ve waited over a year already and I’m good at waiting for the right buy so that is what I’ll be doing. No need to rush into something I won’t be satisfied with.

And yeah, it sucks...I was bummed to see that news.
