Now, someone just has to definitively pick a time and place and stick to it. I suggest 2pm at the picnic tables at Angeles. That way, everyone will have a chance to shoot one of my 50s between noon and 1:30. I'm just being selfish and don't want to drive as far.
That was all I got out of that paragraph... I'm in!!!

And if any other LBC'ers wanna get together and carpool I can fit 4 or 5 in my truck if someone doesn't mind "Skiing" and we can pile some guns in the bed?

there we go!
LB/Lakewood members can carpool and meet us at the picnic table area and discuss what we want to see out of this club/chapter

I'll drive there from Gardena, if any members from Gardena would like to carpool send me a pm

wow, I thought the whole intent of a chapter separate from the OC or LA chapters was to keep it local.

I don't mind doing the initial meeting at ASR, but I am kind of disappointed in the location. Don't read me wrong I like the thought of shooting an M2 as well as the next man, but after 26 years and two combat tours in the Army, I don't have the urge to shoot a semi-auto M2. Full-auto, hell yeah let's go. And I understand that most non-military people will jump at the chance, and I have no problem with that. In fact I hope it brings more to our club.

I just hope that after the first meeting we keep it more local.

Also, I need directions because I've never been there before.

Hey John Angeles range is just an idea, we will see if other members are interested in meeting there
If majority agrees then we will meet there, otherwise Colt mentioned "Heritage" for a meet and greet

Though I love Angelus range. Having to wear ear protection while making plans for the future of your club seems hardly appropriate.

BigBronco (Peter) does have a point
It'll be pretty hard to stay focused with rounds going off left and right, and I am 100% sure most of us will be distracted by Gregs (CSA) 50 cal
Sorry Greg, but I guess our meet and greet will be at Heritages in Lakewood on the 21st

Damn I would like to get involved with this but I am in a bit of a situation right now that doesn't really afford me much fun time at the moment.

On a different note, I do have some .308 brass that I would gladly donate. I don't know how much I have though. I'll just edit the post with the amount in the morning or when I get to it.

Not semi autos at all. Mine are bolt action 50BMGs that are capable of shooting .5moa or better at 1000 yards with my handloads and me behind the trigger. I'm talking about <6" groups at 1000 yards which I've shot during matches which are documented. But, it looks like my selfish suggestion of a place close to me isn't going to fly.

My advice is to come up with an agenda, prior to the meeting, then stick to it. Our first meet and great went well by doing this. With that many people it is really easy to get side tracked and it will be your job to keep everyone on topic (herding cats). If you want to see what our first meeting agenda was like, shoot me a PM.

Heritage Family Pantry in Lakewood at 1130 am on July 21, 2013? I can make it and I currently reload on an RCBS Rockchucker single stage press. I'd like to help out when I can and also hopefully learn something from some of the more experienced reloaders.

Heritage at 11:30 sounds good. Now, get a head count of people confirming their attendance. Include SOs and kids that might be tagging along. Then, call Heritage and make sure that they can and will accommodate us. I plan on coming and might even drag Intoforever down with me. This will probably be the best meeting to date since, you'll probably have several people who have already been to one or more of these.

Someone brought up 1130, that gives people time to travel is they need.

Once it gets closer, I will call and see if they can accommodate us.
