Anyone know who the cheapest FFL is in the Bay Area that can receive two glocks from glock factory for me? Received two GSSF prize certs (not the blue label coupon) and want to redeem them at the same time, then pick them up a month apart per CA.

What is cheap for you? Our transfer fee is $50 and we can stagger them as needed.

Buyer then has the responsibility to make sure it is CA compliant.

A CA FFL installing a grip wrap onto an AR15 lower may not be manufacturing per ATf but I was more interested in the CA DOJ point of view.
Since I have had CA FFLs tell me that they cannot even put a barrel into a pump shotgun without having an 07FFL I am trying to understand what Ca DOJ considers a violation of the CA AW permit and possessing a CA AW without a CA AW permit. Since prior to 2017 a CA FFL with or without a CA AW permit could not install bullet buttons or do anything else to turn a CA AW into a compliant firearm how are CA FFLs able to install grip wraps, remove flash hiders, lock stocks now? You referred to that regulation PDF floating around but I thought the regulation was not approved so how can a CA FFL legally follow it?

Receivers do not need a safety demo to be performed.

Even before the new regulations disassembled was never an issue. We had DOJ audits when shipments came in and asked Bob during an audit. The new regulations just made it crystal clear and in writing.
But those regulations have not been put into law yet or am I missing something? That is why I never really pushed to split guns into parts before 2017 because very few CA FFLs allowed simply splitting an AR15 in half.

I just want to be able to ship guns into CA as economically as possible. The proposed regulations seem to state that a semiauto firearm must be "whole" and able to function when a mag and ammo are inserted. It makes AR15s clear about upper and lower halfs but based on the regulations simply removing the bolt carrier would no longer make the AR15 a semi auto rifle. So with that interpretation I should be able to remove the trigger box from an AUG, Tavor, X95, and it will be legal to send to CA. I should be able to remove the gas piston from an AK47, SCAR, etc and it would be ok to ship into CA. I won't have to install wraps, extended brakes, fix stocks or anything else to make the gun featureless since it is no longer defined as a Ca AW, right? Sinc ea Tavor is no longer a Ca AW without its trigger box then it only has to comply with SBR 16" and 26" oal rifle law, correct? Or is it now just a receiver if only the trigger pack is removed?

We have accepted disassembled guns since day 1. It's never been an issue and many FFLs have done this.

The new regulations just put it in writing for the first time.

There are FFLs that will not accept a lower today because it's illegal.

Finding FFLs who know the law in CA has always been an issue. I got yelled at for shipping a Spikes lower a few weeks ago.

You mean who THINK it is illegal for some odd reason. Nothing illegal that I am aware of.

Default Santa Cruz County FFL Dealer Needed

Santa Cruz County FFL Dealer Needed

I need to find a FFL dealer to transfer a complimentary Ruger10/22 that will be given to me. I used to use the Adventure Survival Shop in Scotts Valley for transfers, but they shut down this past September. Are there any good shops with reasonable fees in the county that I can use to transfer the Ruger 10/22?

Every time I call they just pick up the phone then hang up. Is there someone you can suggest that will answer their phone?

OK I will try that.

I just contacted Outdoor World in Capitola and Perry's in Scotts Valley and they answered their phones and are willing to do the transfer from Ruger.

I am interested in having a firearm transferred from out of state. This item is a custom built 6.5 CM. Defiance Action with Bartlein barrel and muzzle break. No other items would be attached to this action barrel assembly. No chassis, magazines etc. Item would be coming from a manufacture in Ohio. Short Action Customs. Looking for a reasonably priced FFL near Gardena area. South Bay. Thanks in advance.

Anyone, know of an FFL that is willing to do transfers for custom Single action revolvers that I may be interested in purchasing near future? This is only way I’m able to purchase something exempt from roster but custom build from an out of state reputable smith...correct? Sorry if this isn’t the appropriate thread to ask. Thxs.

Any FFL can transfer single action revolvers.

If you're referring to SAE (Single Action Exempt) we do it - http://ugimports.com/howto-transfer

As not all FFLs will handle those that are converted.

I can take possession of the firearms for you, But you have to do your due diligence and make sure the firearm is legal here in California.

If the firearm is not legal in CA, then it would be a problem for you to take possession of it unless you have the proper permits/licenses.

I suspect you mean legal for transfer. There is a big difference between illegal firearms for CA and those which are limited in the ability to transfer them.

Sure, but it will be higher than for a single firearm since each firearm has to be submitted as a separate DROS and each has to be logged in and out.

Cannot give them enough praise. I've done quite a number of PPTs over the past few years, and the one at UG Imports was the easiest/quickest (all of 15 minutes).

They're not a traditional store-front (business is done by appointment only -- email, don't call), but they're a class-act through and through.

FYI, they charge $50 FFL transfers, and $0 for ammo transfers.

Are all transfer fees created equal? If I buy from Budsgunshop out of state and they ship to a local FFL, is that the same as any other transfer, like family?

The only FFL fee which is limited, by law, is the CA PPT where both parties go to the same FFL to do the transfer. A CA to CA intrafamilial transfer by means of the form is $19, but no FFL is required.

All other FFL transfer fees depends on what the FFL chooses to charge, which can vary from very low to very high. I think the highest I have heard of is $200 from a FFL who really didn't want to do transfers, but wasn't honest enough to just say it and refuse, and the lowest is free from those who don't value their time as they really are not in business.

Ok thank you. What I was getting at is, does the average FFL have a schedule of charges for different kinds of transfers? Is a local PPT transfer treated the same as a gun shipped from an auction house in NY as to charges? Does a gun being transferred from a FFL in Florida generate the same charge as an FFL in CA? When I see that a CA FFL says he charges "$40 for a transfer," is it meant that the $40 applies to any kind of transfer for which he would be charging the first dollar?

By the way, on your FFL List, you have the old owners at 2AZone. Hasnt there been a change of ownership there?

When I see that a CA FFL says he charges "$40 for a transfer," is it meant that the $40 applies to any kind of transfer for which he would be charging the first dollar?

By the way, on your FFL List, you have the old owners at 2AZone. Hasnt there been a change of ownership there?
For the most part there are two types of transfers, CA PPTs and everything else. For shipped firearms, it doesn't matter where it came from. A CA PPT is limited by law.

I have not been informed of any updates with 2AZone, I will have to check. People ask to be added, but rarely inform of other changes.

Jamie and Sandra sold the 2A Zone and moved out of state some time back. The new owner started doing business last year (2018).
