Default Looking to start loading 10mm auto

Iíve finally gone through my stash of factory ammo that I stocked up on and am ready to reload my own ammo. Iíve been loading 9mm on my Dillon 550 with success and would like to start on 10mm. My main question is what powder to start with. There are many conflicting threads on what is the go to powder. I plan on using 180gr hollow points and 180gr round nose fmj bullets. I have longshot which I use for 9mm, blue dot, power pistol and a old sealed can of HS-7 that I wouldnít mind using up if I could find good data for. Iím looking to load up some rounds of something comparable to underwood ammo if thatís doable without being dangerous. I also thought about shooting some 200gr rounds too. Iíll be shooting these out of a gen 3 g20 if it makes a difference.

I’ve had good results with Blue Dot and Hornady 200 gr XTPs with a 22# recoil spring in my Glock 20

I use Accurat #7 at 7.1gr using extreme bullets 124g. Same pistol as you,

First batch I loaded 7.3, 7.1, 6.9, 6.7 6.5.

7.1 had the best group.

Is it a full power load?

I like 10.5 blue dot 180 with gold dots. G20, 6 inch kkm barrel.
Ymmv. Its a full load at 11.0.

550? So all you need is a set of #3 pins I think for the shell plate. You save alot reloading 10. And its nice to shoot full load vs watered down factory.

I load 180 gr bullets using 8.6 grains of Power Pistol - also out of a G20 gen 3 with a heavy recoil spring.

I can dig up specifics on OAL and crimp if you want, as well as velocity.

It too was my goal to replicate underwood loads. Can't recall if I got there in velocity, but in terms of perceived recoil/experience, I feel they are very close. In other words, full power.

Yes the 550c just needs the shell holder, 3 pins and the powder through expander. I already have the setup. Iíll give the blue dot a try.

9.2-9.5ish grains of Longshot under a 180 grain Montana Gold JHP. My all time favorite 10mm load.

Starline Brass Blue Dot and Noslers were my favorite back when I was shooting a lot of 10mm.

Your Longshot and Blue Dot will work just fine with 10mm 180gr loads. I've used them both and I got good results.

My favorite load out of a Delta Elite is 12.5gr AA9, Win LP primers, Zero Brand 180 JHP seated to 1.260" That load is safe for my gun, but I make no claims for anyone elses gun, so start low and work up from published data. It chronos 5' from my muzzle at 1184 fps. Plenty of power for me.

I use a lot of Alliant powder for my pistol reloading. So it is Blue Dot for my moderate and fast 10MM loading. I've gotten good results with it.

What are you shooting the ammo in? I have had good luck with BlueDot in a s&w 1006 as well as a g29.
