Default Combination 300 yd range and coyote scope for AR?

My range goes to 300 yards. Hopefully, I can see the bullet holes. But, I'd also like to pick off some coyotes and I know they can get quite close. I was looking at the Leupold Freedom 3-9x40 TRI-MOA but not sure how well it'll do at 300 yards. I'd like to keep under $400 where possible. Any recommendations?

A quality 1-6x or 1-8x scope & those shoot-n-see targets to see the holes at longer ranges.

MARK AR's are good... under $300 for duplex or Mildot and $366 for firedot green TMR:

I'd look for a 10% off code if you get one at OP.

My 18” DMR AR has a 4-14x FFP from Primary Arms. It’s a bargain for FFP. But the 4x may be a bit much for close range as you mention.

Anything Leupold is a good choice! You should go with what YOU like. Personally I prefer target turrets & MRAD...I do like the Mark AR, but the VXs are quite good optically.

The is a fantastic deal...the VX-R 3-9x40 with firedot TMR reticle.

Any 3-9x will get an AR to 300 yards. The vx-r 3-9x40 red dot will work well. Practice will be your best investment in consistency.

Burris RT-6 1-6x excellent glass vs the Strike Eagle, lifetime no ask warranty, SFP so you can make quick shots on fast moving targets with a full size reticle on 1 power, common CR2032 batteries, 30MM tube, and generous eyebox.

How is that working out for you at 300 yds? I'm in the same position as you with a 224 valkyrie

Any others to check out? This is a great thread, I'm pretty much in this exact boat, and would like to look at as many options as possible. Think I've heard Primary Arms had a good one too. I'm going to check out all the above mentioned eventually.

I want to check out some new brands... not always a good idea, but I have spares.

Swampfox has some interesting products... 1-6, 1-8, 1-10
