Default Experiences at Stockton Trap & Skeet Club???

My wife and I are looking to get back into trap, skeet, and sporting clays. When we lived in So Cal, we would shoot every weekend. But sort of fell off after moving to Sacramento.
Looking at different places to shoot clay sports around Sacramento area. The Stockton Trap & Skeet Club seems to have a pretty full list of clay shooting activities. Heading down there this weekend to look around and get a feel for the club.
Any input you can provide about your experiences at Stockton Trap & Skeet Club are appreciated. I checked out Facebook and Yelp. The reviews seems good but I figure it never hurts to ask the Calguns community. Thanks in advance!

Also check out sacramento valley shooting center, camanche hills, and coon creek. All within an hour of sacramento area.

Yolo Sportsman in Davis has 5-6 trap fields and one skeet. They are setup for trap doubles as well.

Open Wednesday-Sunday. Probably the closest trap and skeet field to Sac.

I loved Coon Creek while I lived in the north Sac county area. It was 1/2 hour away and a very relaxed setting for trap, skeet and sporting clays.

Their emphasis is on trap shooting with many fields with voice activated stations.

The 2 skeet fields are pretty quiet and during the middle of the week youíre on your own unless someone else happens to be there and you can pull for each other. I started by draping the controller over my shoulder and pushing the buttons with my right hand while holding the gun up to my shoulder with my left. Later I made a remote button that velcroed to my stock. It led to a switchbox that sat in my shell bag to select high, low and doubles and plugged into the field control box with a 100í extension cord. I later made a delayed remote puller that worked off a garage door remote that hung from my neck.

You could also spring a couple hundred dollars for a Clay Delay.

The SC is challenging but pretty primitive and some stations donít work now and then and you simply skip them.

Make sure you know their schedule because several high school trap teams practice there during the school year and they host BIG regional trap meets up to several weekends per month and you wonít be shooting there if you just show up.

They also have an olympic bunker there if youíre up for the challenge.

Thanks for the info! Looked into the Clay Delay product. Going to seriously consider replacing my kid with a Clay Delay!
