Default Range Report: Sig P226 Legion RX 9mm X-Change Kit

Purchase and Install

posted to here, but move to thread
http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...1500538&page=3

This is complete 9mm slide for Sig P226,
includes XRAY3 Suppressor height night sights
along with the Romeo 1 Red Dot optics,
Legion Gray color.

https://www.sigsauer.com/store/calib...legion-rx.html

Where to buy
Osage County Guns, Sig Sauer P226 Legion RX 9mm Caliber X-Change Kit $699
https://www.osagecountyguns.com/sig-...legion-rx.html

Call or email to ask about Mag. I asked just "I abandon Mag".
or they will block to 10, or they will exchange to 10 rnds, with extra fee.
(regular cart and checkout will not work. they will send electric invoice to pay)

My P226, modified with
GrayGuns P Series Perfection Action Kit Gen2 Competition (This is great improvement for trigger)
https://www.stage3.grayguns.com/prod...2-competition/
Bar-Sto P226 Drop in Barrel
Dawson + Williams Fiber Adjustable sight
Mag Disconnect removed and original locking block installed.
https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page...CKING-INSERT-2

But still I don't like LCI stamp...

Current upper vs Legion Upper. LCI stamp vs LEGION Λ Logo.

ROMEO1 Red Dot Sight

Now Gray-Black two tone.

Pricing... is $699 expensive? No, IMHO.
Romeo 1 : Market price $300
X-Ray3 Night Sight : Market price $130. or more.
So what I paid for Milled slide and Barrel, firing components = about $270.
It will be cheaper than P226 slide milling for RDS, and it's SIG factory component.
And I like "LEGION" logo

Default Quick Test, Indoor Range

Romeo 1 Dot image

Clean circle, no distortion.
I like Up/Down switch for easy adjustment, Motion Activated Illumination, Top battery access.

Romeo 1 Review by AmericanRifleMan
https://www.americanrifleman.org/art...-reflex-sight/

I went to indoor range for zero-ing.
1st shot, at 15 yards = 0.65"/15

Very nice! surprised. I regret these Nosler handload were last 7 I had.
Nosler 115 9mm, PowerPistol 6.3, OAL 1.08"
This paper target is easy to shoot, just place red dot on center of X.

25 yard test = 2.4"/25

Not so impressive.
Hornady HAP 115 9mm, LongShot 5.8, OAL 1.08"

I will buy more Nosler 115, and test again.
Once I measured diameter, Nosler / Sierra = 0.3545 and Hornady = 0.3555... several guns like smaller diameter.

Default Range Report: Sig P226 Legion RX 9mm X-Change Kit

So you put a Legion X-change Kit slide on a regular 226?

I know they have been out of stock on the 226 model as well.

I ask because I didnít know that would work?

Yes My P226 is regular 226, MK25 CA

Sig Sauer P226 MK25 FULL-SIZE MK-25-CA

Frame to Slide compatibility should be all same between P226 / Legion / SAO / DASA

Very nice! How much did you pay for the complete Legion upper assembly?

I’ve been waiting for the P226 RX to be in stock, so this should also work for the P226 Scorpion, correct? So aside from the legion logo what’s the difference with the regular RX slide? I still need to get the slide cerakoted to match the Scorpion frame color.

Regular RX or Legion RX, ...lo, logo.
Contrast Sight or XRAY3 Night Sight
Nitron or Gray
serration, as Barang

All P226 frame are same, Nitron / MK25 / Scorpion / P226-40SW / German or US will accept other P226's slide.
Scorpion Frame + Gray Slide = it looks like P226 Combat ?

More pics,
compared to P320 X-Five RX vs P226 Legion RX

P226 Legion will love 90grain, Hornady XTP 90 or Sig (Sierra) JHP 90.
I want to try next time.

P226 trigger pull, 3lbs 1.5oz

I love this looking from top, LEGION logo + Romeo 1 + perfect co-witness X-Ray night sight.

Similar setup. The xchange kit is a little expensive but pretty amazing. I can make groupings at 25 yards and enjoy shooting my p226 more than before.

Stop it you guys! You making me want to get one.

bmk & Malmon, how much abuse can ROMEO stand? Not talking about accientally dropping them (3 feet hight +/-) but the usual banging, carelessness sometimes when setting on the bench/table, etc.

I really don't know how much abuse the Romeo can take. I have two and grab on the top part to rack the slide, other than that they look ok and hold their zero. Online search states battery life should last 2,600 hours (108 days) of continuous use at medium brightness (440 hours at full brightness. It turns off automatically and turns back on when it senses motion.

Great post and thanks for the details OP.

Question- what will you do with the OEM original p226 slide, is there a market to sell it and off set the Legion RX slide etc?

I wouldn’t see a need for me to keep the OEM slide if I purchased the Legion RX slide kit for my German P226R.. curious on what everyone is doing with their spare OEM SLIDES.

THANKS AGAIN for the detailed posts, awesome and congrats

ETA- looks like the kit price went up on Osage at 749.99 now, not 699.00
