This is taking longer than I thought. I got a very late start today so, unfortunately, I'm not likely to be able to complete this today.

It should be noted that there is a difference between the proposal itself and the things one does to build consensus around it. Obviously for consensus to form, the proposal itself has to be appealing. Building consensus is, in part, the process of making that appeal as apparent as possible.

What I'm going to be doing is laying out the proposal itself and the justification for it. Building consensus around it is a much longer and harder process than just that, of course.

I don't want to derail anything here... but at the risk of doing so I just wanted to say kudos on the last post Trapped had. I found it informative and good reading, enjoyable and clear. I do enjoy good posts and I hope Kc can both write some of his own and with good enough quality cause more posts of the latter quality. I don't believe I'll meaningfully contribute nor get more quality posts in response so for now I want to continue to read for now. *

Good things are worth waiting for, as they say.

In fact, doesn't Calguns have an euphemism for that? Something like...

Okay. Maybe that's used to imply other things as well. But, we should all take positive reinforcement/encouragement where we can get it.

LOL, I hope it doesn't take that long!

And I very much hope it's a good thing, too. I think the resulting conversation will be very much worthwhile, regardless.

By the way, I realize I may have come off as being a bit "harder" than usual in the last few messages. My apologies if it caused confusion or misinterpretation. I hope we're after basically the same thing here, but even if not, as long as the resulting conversation is illuminating, that alone makes it worthwhile.

The events of recent months have made things more "real", as it were ...
