Intended to go shoot when I got home, but just too tired. Drove in from NM. 30 mph wind is discouraging too.
Might try running a mag through it in the morning if the wind dies down. It blew my 600 lb motorcycle off the center stand last week.
Due out at 1 pm tomorrow to go to Corona & Riverside. Will be back Tue and maybe a day off, maybe not.

I have 'before' photos showing converting it from "CA featureless" to "American". Post #1 is the American version.

Took it out for a 'before' group. 10 to 20 mph gusting side wind strung them horizontally 4.25". Vertically 1.5". This is 15 rounds, 3 different sights. Each 5 round group is smaller, averaging 1" vertical. Target was at 50 yards. Shooting prone with bags that weren't cooperating. I was also going to set up my chronograph, but it was just too gusty.
First was 5 shots using the scope at 4x.
Second was illuminated dot at 1x. Four hits were inside the 4x circle, 1 just to the left.
Fourth was the irons, striking in the same circle as the first group, with two hits to the right.
A disclaimer (excuse). I'm new to MSRs (ARs) and my eyes are getting old (60 years old).

I've considered buying commercial stripped lowers to replace the current ones.
But then I'd have 3 perfectly good receivers sitting there....
waiting....

Besides before & after photos, do we want step by step photos?
Or a video?

Had a bugger of a time with the FSB pins. Until I broke out the calipers. They were in backwards, I ended up driving them our right to left (after bending 2 punches trying to go the common direction).
So, all 3 photos are of the same carbine. First is CA neutered. Second is just after moving to AZ. Third is one year after moving to AZ.
Next, to go sight it in again.
Thanks for all the input, suggestions, and help.

PEPR scope mount is great. No zero change removing and reinstalling QD mount.

More important, the gas block lined up correctly.

Removed the upper receiver/barrel and bore-sighted the flip-up irons.
Windage had to go all the way to the left. Something's amiss.
Disassembled everything. Added 2 shims under the barrel nut and aligned it 'perfectly'.
Also the gas block, though working correctly, was not perfectly aligned.
Everything went back together more smoothly than the first time. All gaps are even.
Bore sighting moved the rear sight back to center.
Scope in the QD PEPR mount has always remained zeroed.
Next outing will set MBUS zero.
