Bravo Concealment Holster - Yikes! Clip failed!
UPDATE: Now, the correct sub-forum.
I have been using Alien Gear's ShapeShift holster with an M&P Shield 9 for my carry outside California for about 1 to 2-years now. However, after much deliberation - I am now switching to a Glock 26. As I am primarily a Glock shooter, the nearly similar form factor, manual of arms and interchangeable magazines makes it a no-brainer. Hhhmmm... I wonder why I never went to a G26 earlier on... Anyways, for the G26 - I opted to get the Torsion holster from Bravo Concealment. The holster arrived last night and set it up for a single-clip configuration AIWB. Wow! The holster felt good, lots of flexibility for adjusting on the fly, allows for a nice straight draw... Up until I began practicing dry practice fast draws... Considering that in a high-stressed situation, the draw stroke will most probably NOT be in a straight line going up, with forces on the gun/holster be in multiple directions! With the clip supporting only the bottom part of the holster, I guess it wasn't sturdy enough (or was just too flimsy) that I go this... After a few reps (more or less 10)... Yikes!!! Good thing that this wasn't in a real-life situation... _

I don't have much experience AIWB holsters as my tactical muffintop makes it highly uncomfortable to carry that way, haha.
However, I do have an Bravo Concealment Torsion IWB holster that uses the same clips, but has two of them, and have had no issues. That being said, carrying in a different position and also having two clips may help spread the pressure out a bit more. I'm willing to bet Bravo would make it right if you contacted them.

I've always run soft loops so I don't have any direct experience replacing a plastic clip. But first I would call Bravo and see if they have a recommendation. If not, take a look at holstersmith.com and holsterbuilder.com. They should have something that would would work. I've also herd that "Ulticlips" are really good.

I have a CYA IWB and a Vedder light tuck for my shield. The kydex is very similar in size and form except for the light tucks muzzle end looking like it is able to accommodate a threaded muzzle with thread protector. This may be why the CYA is marginally more comfortable that the vedder.
The metal clip on the vedder prints significantly less than the standard style plastic clip on the CYA. I saw a review of someone bending a metal Vedder clip but you would have to be an idiot to accomplish that. |

Yeah, really looks like a design fault.
Will have to try it again, once the replacement part comes in. That said, they do have a 30-day warranty which I can use, if ever. To be honest, am at a lost with that warm and fuzzy feeling. Hahaha... That said, I actually have another Bravo Concealment holster. Another Torsion for the Glock 19 which I sometimes use for tactical classes (at the 4- or 5-o'clock position). It does hold up - but then again, it's using TWO (2) clips. Let me try looking at a few suggestions that I have received from folks (both other brands of holsters and/or clips). Thanks, _ |

Wow. I’ve been using my bravo for 4 years now and never had issues with the clips. Been practicing with a single clip for a year now and still hasn’t bent. So yeah. That’s a weird one.
