Default CrossBreed Holsters are my go to for CCW

If you are new to concealed carry or just looking to see what your options are in the holster mega-verse out there, it's easy to get lost in making a choice. I have been carrying for years and found that my personal favorite holster company for concealed carry is CrossBreed Holsters. They make the hybrid style leather to kydex fusion which I find incredibly comfortable to carry and relatively affordable. I have worked with them in their warranty and repair department before as well and it is fantastic! I made a quick video here to just show some of the holsters I currently have and how I wear them. When I first started concealed carrying, I remember looking up a million videos about how to wear my firearm and make sure it didn't print too bad so hopefully this helps some of you that are trying to find that info as well.

I ordered a few from the crossbreeds seconds site
1/2 off is a deal

I am slow to present from their holsters
The metal clips are rusting so my clothes got rust stained

but they are comfortable

I'll be honest, I have never really looked into these style of holsters before. My most recent CCW gun is a small double stack (Ruger Sec9c) and so far I haven't found a great holster for it yet.

I ordered the crossbreed. Hoping I like it! Thanks for the vid

I've been using their stuff for 2 years now for daily carry. The company has been great. I've needed some of the rubber washers that go between the clips and the leather, sent free. I broke the kydex on the mag pouch and they replaced the entire unit free. Both times they were very fast to resolve the issues.

They are also comfortable and mold to my body shape. Clips are not rusting or loosing shape. Kydex retaining shape.

No issues at all

I've been using Crossbreed holsters for over ten years for my EDC. I've never had a more comfortable holster.

Living in Bakersfield I haven't had any problems with the clips rusting.

They make a lot of styles- the seconds have either blem leather or are returns- they sell for about 1/2 of retail....

https://www.crossbreed-seconds.com/

example- $30-$50 for Glock 19/23
https://www.crossbreed-seconds.com/g...19/right-hand/

some models sit deep... inside or outside waist... pick one up

if you don't like it- well it was 50% off- so sell it to break even

I got rid of all of my Crossbreed holsters several years ago and have all White Hat Holsters now. I prefer them far and away over Crossbreed.

...although Crossbreed horsehide IS perfectly serviceable and comfortable and there isn't anything I have to say bad about them. They're just not as good.

I'll have to check out the White Hat Holsters for sure. What about them made them superior to the CrossBreed Holsters?

I use a Crossbreed and have for many years. They're good holsters.

I have a customer that sells that style holster so when I go to replace it I will buy one of his and try it. I would probably try one of these breathable ones.

I was looking at these Kybrid holsters, that are like a kydex and hybrid combined.

I was literally just thinking about bringing this thread back to the light of day. I have used my crossbreed freedom carry for over a week with a Ruger Security 9 compact and I am truly happy with it. I have carried with smaller shirts (it conceals far better than my previously purchased all kydex holster), I have hiked in it and found the leather to be very comfortable. It is starting to get hot here in Arizona (I live up north where hot is 95 degrees, not 115), and the leather is forming nicely. I carry at about 4'oclock and so far have been truly happy. There may be better leather/kydex holsters out there, but at this point for the price I'm a satisfied customer.

I love my Crossbreed QuikClip Holsters. I can carry a Smith 1006 which is a 10mm full sized tank with total comfort.

I am a big fan of crossbreed. All 3 carry guns use rhe micro/quick clip - single large kydex clip

The clip wears out, but they send you replacements pretty easy.

The biggest issue which I cant understand how they have not changed it is getting a proper FULL grip when unholstering.

I had to cut leather away so middlendinger could actually get all the away around grip.

I did this to all of them for g19/lc9/airweight
Been using them for 8 years now.

You can see the difference in FAs1 photos... Crossbreed has too much leather for proper first grip..where as blackarch has a fully free grip to grab

Their combat cut does a lot to help remedy that but yes, I agree that there should probably still be less leather than there is behind the grip. I had to get rid of my supertuck holsters for that reason.

The combat cut take to much off for comfort IMO. That said, I also have trimmed all of mine to allow for additional clearance for the middle finger. huge help.

I like them for the squared guns (XD's and Glocks), but prefer kydex for rounder ones (CZ75's) due to movement in the holster.

Wow! All these “non-issues” with broken parts (let’s skip the bad design discussion). I am still using the same Milt Sparks holster. It is now 21 years old

Haha... all leather is not the future. Same as the Garand was not the end of development for self loading rifles.

Crossbreed makes a comfortable servicable holster. Looking for perfect, you will end up with a drawer full of holsters. And your wife wont let you forget it either.

I have a couple stealthgear holsters for a 3" 1911 I'll sell you! I wasn't a fan. I were a cheap neoprene belly band instead.

Default CrossBreed!

I have two SuperTuck IWB horse leather/Kydex holsters, I've used for a few years now.

They are easy to remove and install, metal clips work well and no rust noted so far.

Both my Colts show a little chaffing on the finish where the Kydex edge rubs.

(from years of being holstered and worn and I work in a gritty environment)

I like the way the leather breaks in and molds to my body.

I'm a big fan of their products, I use them nearly every day.

Any fear or doubts of a ND with these hybrid holsters?

No. I know the guys who sell full kydex will tell you..BIG DANGER as you can squeeze a .....pencil/shirt tale...tootsie roll or whatever else between the leather and your glock then get glock leg.

I call shinanagens.

Its pretty dam tight and I don't roll around in a bowl of bolts and pencils to get between my horse leather and glock.

I had a Cross breed Supertuck horsehide that I carried an LC9 in for a couple of years. In the beginning I noticed that my mag was released on a regular basis. Not a good thing at all! I contacted Crossbreed and they seemed to be aware of that type of problem and recommended a fix. Quite big of them to tell me how to fix a problem with their holster that they were already aware of. Anyway, no big deal, I fixed it. Maybe it's just me because no one else has complained, but the clips put holes in 3 pair of my jeans. I threw it in the drawer and it's still there. I wouldn't buy another.

This is actually an issue I agree! If you don't get the combat cut or one of their smaller holsters, you definitely risk a magazine release which I will admit is ridiculous. Their combat cut should be the standard IMHO. I recently tried a holster from Black Point Tactical and so far so good!

I agree that they should just make that the standard cut don't you? I have owned enough Crossbreed holsters now to see that at least for me, I have no use for the standard cut. But hey, maybe they have their reasons?

Carried my G20 in shoulder rig. Got a used Crossbreed on the bay and haven't looked back. Unbelievabley comfortable, stable and non-printing even in light clothing.

I should get payed for this review.
