Arrow New gun store in Burbank causing uproar with residents worried about gun violence

BURBANK, Calif. (KABC) -- A new gun store is causing an uproar in Burbank.

Some say it's too close to a school, but a protest Saturday didn't stop a long line of customers from showing up for the grand opening.

Doors opened to the brand new, second location of a store called Gun World.

Across the street, on Magnolia Boulevard and Hollywood Way, dozens of people came out to protest the opening. They say that there are too many gun stores in the city.

"It's really scary knowing I can go to school and someone can go to my school with a gun," said Ada Kennedy who was protesting the new gun store's grand opening.

Sad part is that someone is convincing this school age kid that "legal" gun owners equal violence. Very sad, this kid all for giving up freedoms before she even realizes what she lost.

Sure Ada. On their way to school, kids are going to stop by Gun World and pick up a gun or 2 just because they can't help themselves.

From the article:
Quote:
Kat Fisher says her daughter is terrified to walk past the gun store to Roosevelt Elementary School nearby.

"For responsible gun owners, if you want a handgun for safety I'm okay with that. I'm not trying to take that right away," Fisher said. "We don't need AR-15s. You're not going to hunt a deer. You're going to destroy the meat. I feel that there's too many gun stores out here."

"There needs to be background checks, we need to have regulations in place," Fisher said. "We need to tax people that are buying these weapons."
I guess Kat Fisher has no clue regarding CA gun laws as everything she is asking for has already been implemented and then some.

I wish people would do some research befor faux outrage.

I grew up in a small town in CT where a group wanted to turn a closed furniture store into a simulated gun range. Real guns with laser simulators, no ammo. There were people concerned about bringing the wrong element into their town. There were people concerned about being too close to schools, high school 2 miles one way, jr. High 1 mile the other. There were people concerned about what this might say about their little town. Truly amazing. Another example how liberalism is a mental disorder. It just recently opened up. I hope that they evolve into a real gun range. That'll stir up the libs.

But a Weed dispensary is always welcome. As well as a liquor store.

Can't believe people shop at that 1980s used car dealership of a gun store. They're a disgrace to 2A supporters, gun stores, and retail operations in general. Better gun stores reside just yards away.

People are unfathomably stupid.

They're acting like gun stores emit radiation. Like an additional store will be more dangerous. Walking in front of a gun store will get them shot. So many fearful ignoramuses.

I have an idea. Tell them that wearing a mask will protect them when walking in front of the store. They'll believe it.

I think the article is wrong. What I've gathered from their website over the past month is that this will be a new location, and they are moving for a larger space.

In that regard, their existing store was getting cramped, and it would not make sense from a franchising perspective for them to open up a 2nd location just a mile up the road from their current location.

If those protestors feel unsafe because others have guns, they should get their own guns and train so they feel safer. They should also vote for politicians and DAs and other elected officials who are not soft on crime

Why would kids go to a gun store when they can get Glocks from the gun vending machines on campus?

Ya, it’s really scary knowing the demoscumbags are doing all they can to release violent felons/formerly incarcerated, or whatever the hell they’re referred to these days, back into our communities without consequence. The dummies that support demoscum will continue to regardless.

Kat's daughter and Ada should be more worried about walking past the bars on Magnolia that open at 6am on their way to school at 8am.
Because after all..nobody drinks and drives that early right? Right.
I used to drive for Budweiser all over SF Valley and Hollywood. Seen it plenty of times. Sad actually to see someone drinking at a bar at 6am.

What’s even better is that this is located in or near Adam Pencilneck Schiffty’s district. I’m sure that his constituency has the collective IQ of a potato.

Gun world is amazing. Their new location rocks and their showroom kills Guns Directs selection. I still shop at both stores.

They recently had a gun I was looking for for years, I figured I'd check it out and feel it out. Price was right, ppl were friendly so I bought it, maybe things have changed there in the past few years.

"Cam and Company / NRA News" ran an interview several years ago with a man that applied to open a gun store in a strip mall.
Process was going along smoothly until some antis caught wind of it and started complaining.
The application was suddenly denied with the excuse that there was a school nearby and "it would send the wrong message" to children that walked by.
The kicker...
That particular location became an adult book/toy store.

Oh the melting of the snowflakes. Parents instilling fear in their children so that they can feel like they are doing something.

Sad.
