Retiree range quals
Yearly range quals for retirees was today. Lots of old guys I didn't recognize.
 10 shots at 10 yds. I always qualify with two, Some form of a 1911 and a S&W .357 revolver.Apparently the Department is getting new shoulder patches. They handed some out. They took the bear out, and added a 9/11 memorial. Our shoulder patches were unusual in that they were "handed", there is a left and and a right hand patch. That way the bear always faced forward. Some agencies also used a bear, but they used the same one for each side. So, one bear was advancing and one bear was retreating. They're certainly colorful.

It amazes me that my department also only requires 10 rounds from 10 yards, sloooooow fire and you just have to hit the paper!!! ANY handgun and with ANY caliber. There’s guys that qual with Colt SAA’s just for zhits and giggles, but carry modern semi autos the rest of the year.
I can’t wait to go, “alumni” with my employer…. I’m only months away. I’ll be bringing a Colt SAA as well, just becasue I can.
