Default DA Photo Fail

I was looking for a contact on AKO, and happened upon this DA Photo. Yes, I literally pulled this from AKO today.

There is just so much wrong with this, but there is one particular item that just goes WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND.

Also, keep in mind (in case one isn't aware), putting up a profile photo on AKO is entirely voluntary. Even as such, the photo could be of anything. It doesn't have to be an official DA Photo.

So many wrongs had to have been done to get to this point.

beyond the unit citations being crooked and the uniform as a whole looking like it was pulled out of a duffel bag just before the picture, the sleeves being too long, and possibly the award rack being off centered, what else is wrong?

OMG someone has to SEE IT.

Anyone.......................

It would be on par with sewing on two sets of E5 stripes one upside up, and one upside down underneath it and saying it represents MSG/E8

The stripes around the cuffs of the sleeves, gotcha, not an officer so that one slipped past me.

Yep. Had to go above and beyond to have that done, had a DA Photo taken, and then voluntarily publish the Photo in his AKO profile.

I didn't see it until I scrolled down. How the fudge did that happen? And to an O3 no less... Like, he would have to literally order a second set of stripes, had the correct pair removed and resewn with the second.

Oh well, DA photos are dumb. So are the ASUs

the jackets come off the rack WITHOUT them, then they have to get altered for the correct length from the cuff depending on arm length, then the officer has to buy the correct color (different colors for different branches).

So I could see he took a new jacket to a civilian alterations place with his braids in hand with vague instructions to them and they just put them on until they ran out and it made sense in a civilian eye.

That doesn't explain why he wouldn't literally cut the extra set off.

Primary reason I will go out of my way to get this stuff done ON POST.

Could it be a State Military Retardist...err Reservist? The only time I see that much fail on a uniform, it’s on a state military reserve guy...esp chaplain.

I absolutely can not fathom how he thought that looks good.

He's a USAR Engineer CPT.

He's got upwards of 15 years based on the Oak Leafs on his ARCAM (aka good conduct medal). So he's probably prior enlisted (because one can only go 15.5 years and still only be a CPT if started out as an officer, presuming he spent max time at each O grade) and the photo is dated 12 months ago so at the very least he's nearly 16 years in now.
