I had a sporterized Type I that I sold on here earlier this year. Very few markings. Made without a mum. When I bought it the shop advertised it as 6.5 carcano luckily I researched it before buying ammo. Chambered in 6.5 Arisaka

I hope that all prior service Marines have been properly notified that they are required by Law to
actually shoot all WW2 Japanese Rifles on a regular basis after the rifle clears the armory. I see brass case reformations in your future. |

I took a Type 99, a Type 44 and a Garand to show my neighbors father-in-law, he was USMC on Bouganville, Okinawa and a Gunny with Chesty Puller at the Chosen. His words when he saw the Type 99, "one of MY favorite rifles to shoot (at the rifle club in Oakland post war, I think) and he had a DEEP respect for their accuracy especially when getting shot at!" Of course he couldn't put the Garand down without going through the Manual of Arms and proper Stack Arms procedure! |
