On a whim (after researching) I bought a Heritage Rough Rider 22lr/wmr and a Taurus TX22.
Should be good for plinking and teaching new shooters (daughter in law) ![]() Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk |

Excuse me sir I don't believe that Taurus is shown by the great state of California to be on the roster of safe handguns. Therefore it must be unsafe and unfit to train a new shooter. You should be ashamed and dispose of it immediately.
In all seriousness, I'm just jealous. Looks like a ton of fun is in your future! |

I shot a TX22 with and without a suppressor and it was an excellent gun. When I move to a free state I will likely get a TX22 and a suppressor for it.

Got to shoot these two this evening. A mag through the Taurus TX22 and a cylinder each of 22lr & 22wmr through the Heritage Rough Rider.
The first round stovepiped in the TX22. The next 16 rounds performed as designed. 22lr was flawless in the Rough Rider. Swapped cylinders and my first time with 22 magnum. Needed 12 trigger pulls to fire the six rounds. Brand new (cleaned) guns fired for the first time. Only one hiccup with the semi-auto on the first round. The magnum cylinder in the revolver wasn't the one that came with the gun, but an engraved one from Heritage. Pressed for time, I usually run a lot more rounds through a firearm on the first outing. Also shot a 30 round mag through an MSR (5.56). Swapped handguard a while back and had issues with sighting in the BUIS. Corrected the issue (shimmed the barrel) and bore-sighted the irons. This was my first outing after shimming and the bore sight was spot on with 5 shots slow and controlled. Reattached the QR LVPO and it retained an adequate zero. Slow and steady at clay pigeons at 100 yards on 4x, then let loose the last 15 rounds rapid(ish) fire. Satisfied with the brief performance of these three, even the initial 50% on the 22wmr. Trigger time has been lacking for a while. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk |

Congratulations! Looks like 2 handfuls of fun. When I move to a free state I’ll buy a Ruger Charger, and a suppressor, and ah… you know the thing.
