This is serious impulse buy territory. I really want an SP101 in 22LR, but might just pick up one of these instead...

I do like mine a lot, but I got a really good deal on it from a no-reserve auction even with the FFL fee. Now, I would shop the GP100 .22 also and compare. Any price difference might be mitigated by the fact that you probably have to buy new grips to even hold the SP101. With Hogues it is adequate. GP100 gives you 2 more rounds too. I think grips and spring kit are a given for the SP101.

Turner's Reseda, bronze, pre-ordered on 4/22. Waiting. Waiting.

Called the Turners in Orange, where I have a preorder on a Bronze Wrangler. I am currently sitting in the 129 spot on the preorder list, and they have been getting mostly Black cerakote deliveries, but all 3 colors are trickling in. The person who I talked to said to call back occasionally to see where I am on the list each week if I wanted to, or just wait for the call in about a month or two...

Finally got a call on Monday from turners saying they had a serial number for my pre order and I could come in and start the dros paperwork even though the gun was not in the store yet. I asked when it would be in as I would like to see the gun before I move forward just to check things over for blemishes or any major problems. The guy said tomorrrow. I though it strange they would start the 10 day wait before the gun was actually in the store. I told the Turner’s employee I would just come in Tuesday and DROS the gun then. So today I make my way to turners and get told the gun won’t actually be in till Friday but I can start the paperwork today, BUT the 10 wait won’t start till Friday!! WTF. Not happy. Told the guy today how unpleased I was and he said the other guy who called me was mis informed. Not sure if I want to make a fuss on Friday and see if they make things right.

i believe ruger is keeping production at a steady pace.
they didn't ramp up production to release this, cause they didn't know if it would have been popular. the same happened with their PCC. i think most gun companies are weary of increasing production capabilities to have it all crash back down again. i mean ruger had layoffs even after the success of the PCC. the obama era gave the gun industry 8 years of inflated sales/demand. but since trump came into office, sales/demand have gone down to bush jr era. for me, i'm probably looking at next year before i even get a chance to buy the wrangler with how inventory is going. just like it was with the pcc. didn't get mine until earlier this year when supply was plentiful since the demand had weaned off.

Ruger will catch up soon and inventories will sit. It is a niche that got filled (really cheap and better than a Rough Rider), but I doubt it is as insane a demand as the PC Carbines were. Not everyone goes nuts for rimfire single-action revolvers... a lot of people just kind of want one and a lot of people already had single sixes or DA's they don't shoot. |

that is what ruger would probably do once the sales start dropping.
they will introduce either new colors, or add in adjustable sights or longer barrel length models.

I'll pick one up on a Black Friday sale if I can get it for Rough Rider prices <$150. Beyond that I already have a Roughrider w/ the US flag grips. For me it's just not an itch that needs to be scratched. But for under $150 how do you say no

Sounds good. Right now, I'd be more likely to spend the money from two Wranglers on cases of ammo.

That's strange. I ordered mine 4/23 in Orange and started the DROS yesterday. But I also called them several times, instead of waiting for them to call me.

I'm suprised that they are back to doing this. A while back they stopped doing this, I thought it was the ATF that told them they couldn't start the dros until the gun was physical in the store.

I handled all 3 colors today at Turner's in Signal Hill. They had silver on display and I asked to see the other colors which the salesman said were in the back. Turns out the black and bronze ones were already sold and were waiting on the 10 day wait to be over for the customer to pick it up.
I will NOT be buying a gun from Turner's because they let people handle guns that are already sold. So if I would have dropped and scratched one today, the owner would be sh1t out of luck. I sure don't want a lot of people putting their dirty hands on my property without my permission. I'll spend a few extra bucks at a different place for the new Wrangler....in black. |

Finally got to handle mine today also. Was very pleased with how it felt. Fit and finish was great. The loading gate was not as hard to manipulate as some of the reviews I saw. Trigger felt nice and I was pleased with the weight. Was expecting it to be much lighter and toy like but it was very solid. So far, pleased with the purchase but will wait till I get to shoot it before making and conclusions

What was your order date? I’m still waiting for my call. Last time I checked in they admitted that they haven’t been very diligent about calling customers.
