Default Leader to 10# spectra.... what knot do you use?

What is a good easy to tie knot for a mono or flouro leader to 10# spectra or other braided line? I have no problem trying knots in heavier test line... but trying to tie a 4-6# leader to 10# braid has my fingers fumbling and eyes going cross-eyed. I've failed at making a successful albright knot. Surgeons knot? Curious what you all use with small lines.

Haha.... never mind... I asked this same question two years ago!

But if anyone wants to add their input....

Looks like a double surgeons knot is what I was looking for.

This weekend I was trying to get a rod setup for some delta largemouth or black bass.... but I was having trouble getting a 6# leader tied to some 20# spectra.... but since I switched to braid... ive always been looking for that easy knot....

You replied in my other post a while back.... that one was about Sierra trout on lightweight gear.

For my 80 spectra to 40 fluoro I use double surgeons knot. I am snelling big circle hooks for halibut in Alaska tomorrow getting my terminal tacke together.
200 lb leader

Uni to uni… been using it for more years than I care to admit, and properly tied it has never failed me up to 30# flouro.

Fg knot is all I use.

Pros: Smallest though the guides, very strong.
Cons: can be tough to learn to tie, and takes a while compared to others

When you tie the Albright, the tag and main line need to go through the loop side by side parallel. When you start it, you need to use a finger to keep the loop straight and to indicate which way the spectra entered so you know which way it needs to exit.

Otherwise, a Uni to Uni would also work for line that small.

Agreed on the double uni for line to leader; easy to tie quickly. I find the braid requires a few more wraps to prevent it's uni from slipping. As for 200# line tied to anything, it is a very stiff line. You might consider crimping rather than trying to cinch down a palomar, improved cinch, uni-knot, or surgeon's loop.
