There are a few at my local store. I own one. It works good right out of the box with a vx2 Leupold scope and dnz mount.

I have a Ruger precision rimfire. I enjoy the rifle very much. Very accurate. A plus that it takes 1022 mags. Another option to look at. I also like how you can adjust the bolt throw to they same pull as a short action for training purposes. 1.5 moa rifle at 100 yards with CCI standard velocity. I haven't ran any match ammo through mine yet.

What kind of ammo works generally good?

I enjoy shooting the Ruger Precision Rimfire, but I would say the accuracy is not significantly better than an out-of-the box 10/22 or other rimfire. I would not call it "precision" except that its appearance mimics the Ruger Precision Rifle.

That said, with CCI SV and a 12x scope I have fun shooting golf balls at 50 yards. They go flying up the berm and when they come to rest you get em again. But I don't think anyone's out there winning matches with these guns. I pretty much bring it along every time i go to the range. It has functioned nearly perfectly. It repeatedly failed to eject and I had to do a bit of self-tuning on the spring that holds the spent brass to the bolt face as its extracted. Just a VERY minor bend with two pairs of pliers and it works perfectly now.

Disclaimer: I do not claim to be a great marksman by any means and they probably perform better in the hands of more qualified riflemen. Also my regular range is in a windy canyon so groups vary a bit between windy days and early morning/calm days.

Overall I would recommend getting one.

A student brought one out to a class and I had a chance to shoot it. A decent rifle. Good ergonomics. Not spectacular accuracy, but certainly serviceable. Can be had for a reasonable price. I felt like it would be a good value at $400 or less. I don't know what they go for now. Alternatively, if you want a nice 77/22, I have one in the marketplace...
