Default 6/22/21 I bought a brick of federal spp's for $60.00 online.

Powder valley came through today. $60 for 1000 primers. Suck it, flippers! These are all getting loaded and shot, by me.

Others are reporting that bass pro is getting them pretty regularly for about $55. If we stop paying ridiculous 2nd hand prices, the flippers will stop clearing out all the online shops to dump on gunbroker.

About 89 with tax and all. Still cheaper than the cheapest marketplace or gunbroker listing, and I don't have to drive all over and waste a day to pickup. More primers will come in stock, and more powders will too. They often have powders, and bundling more hazmat stuff into one package balances out the cost.

But still, even paying full pop on hazmat, tax, AND shipping for just one lonely brick, its still considerably cheaper than getting gouged on the second hand market.

What we need to do is stop paying these ridiculous prices from the retail outlets.

I'd rather pay hazmat and shipping, than line the pockets of scalpers.

I'd love to know how the flippers got their inventory and what they paid for it. I also wouldn't mind seeing some of these folks buying primers at $60/thou and then being forced to either hold them or sell them at something like $30-35.

Powder Valley isn't charging a ridiculous price based on their cost and availability. The issue with them is that they limit purchase to one package of 1,000 so that people can't horde. That makes them painfully expensive after fees and shipping.

Hell, if they would up the limit to two boxes, it would help offset the hit of those fees.

Default Looks like someone's unloading before the crash

Saw this ad today in the marketplace:

For sale 34 boxes of primers each box has 1000 primers asking $100 a box.
14-boxes of small rifle
10-boxes of small pistol
4-boxes of large rifle
6-boxes of large pistol
Most of it is Winchester primers
San Diego area

Sounds like someone getting out before the prices drop to more 'normal' levels.

Saw that too. 34,000 primers. Hope he get stuck with them.

Remington is back online cranking out ammo. One more huge plant takes some stress off everyone else. We'll be seeing more and more in stock notices for $50-60, which is going to turn right back to 30-40 soon.

Midway got stock this morning.

I'm almost positive the bots are adding primers to their cart and the shop holds them for checkout. The bots fail to pay and they're released back into sales. Get the instock notice from discord, hit the refresh button for 20 minutes and get primers once the bots fail checkout.

Annoying? Sure, but sitting in my underwear drinking coffee at 7am is a good time to get primers. I got 20 minutes to save myself from getting gouged.

Got bullets too. Brazos shipped me 572 180gr .401's for 50 bucks, confirmed and in the mail in 2 days. Xtreme ships within 2-4 days as well. Not paying $100 for 500 in the marketplace for those either.

Man, I go to Midway everyday. Never see in stock...do I need to click on a specific brand or will the general search show in stock?

That dude almost sold out. There's another guy selling spp's in my area for $100, and they're not moving.

I'll load and shoot 800 of these and start hunting again, at real stores. My goal no more than $70 for the next 1k (with taxes, fees, shipping), and I think it'll happen.

Stop paying flippers at any price, and we shooters get primers again.

Reloaders need to wait till prices drop to a decent price point. Then stock high and deep. I learned a lesson long ago with Obama and HiTlery. After that I bought primers and powder every payday for several years and would never again pay more than retail. Paying more than $50 now for a brick of primers is telling sellers/retailers that reloaders will pay up,way up. I've stocked up cases of primers with no intent of selling any. Lesson learned!!!

Just like getting guns, before they fall off-roster, stack in non-lean-times...
We have 3 off-roster guns, which we plan on selling (and long-guns too) to Californians instead of taking them out of state
(and there are better options in free-states anyways).

This is my 3rd rodeo regarding a primer/ammo shortage, so I needed NONE... and even bartered some for "regular primer and powder rates" 1:1.

I only see some pistol primers but yikes, $75. Still not interested.

I understand mom and pop making up for lost time/costs but manufacturers are not raising the prices to major retailers that much so yeah, not a fan.

Don't get me wrong, thats an ugly *** price. But store bought primers for $100 beat gouger primers for $150 that you have to waste your afternoon driving for. That'll keep driving prices down.

Its a start, not the end. Shooting for those $20 bricks again!

Don't let it happen again. Stock up when it goes back down. I "thought" about selling some but I know better. I can sell some other stuff for play money.

I’m proud of you for stacking deep. Nice work

I stacked on components and ammo in the before times but I also shoot 1-2 bricks of spp a month so I’m typically resupplying to maintain my stock levels.

$89/k is not bad for the times. It hasn’t been consistently cheaper since oct 2020 (outside of maybe lining up at sportsman’s for a brick)
