Default ** LAWYERS ** - if you think you need a lawyer, don't tell _us_ your problem ...

... because few of us are lawyers, and those that are are not your lawyer.

But we get enough requests for referrals that perhaps this thread may help.

Lawyers in California typically are a little bit geographically centered, so it is very useful to mention where you are located.

Here are some commonly mentioned lawyers when folks might ask:
North to south:

Sacramento area: Adam Richards, http://www.ajrlaw.net

San Francisco Bay Area: Don Kilmer, http://dklawoffice.com/
Don has moved to Idaho.

Long Beach: Michel and Associates, http://michellawyers.com/

San Bernardino: Bruce Colodny, http://Gunlaw.com

Mission Viejo/Temecula: Davis and Associates, http://www.calgunlawyers.com/contact/

There are, of course others.

Looks like Adam Richards has new contact info; he apparently started his own practice a few months ago:

By far the very best gun attorney in Ca is Bruce Colodny

Gunlaw.com

He is located in San Bernardino and is willing to travel too!
He has kept me out of trouble and I have only the best recommendations about his service and personality
PM me for any details !

I never thought I would have to write such a thing but
Yes, it is a violation of Calguns rules to self-incriminate on the open forum.
Don't send that kind of thing to the moderators in PM, either.

Briefly, the problem is
Quote:
In United States law, a statement against interest is a statement made by a person which places them in a less advantageous position than if they had not made the statement and is as a consequence deemed credible as evidence (usually within a legal trial).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statem...ainst_interest

If you have this great story burning a hole in your pocket, you could try to anonymize your question, as

'What if [someone - not me!] did [this thing], what would the likely consequence be?'

Your answers probably will mostly be 'get a lawyer; pay for advice; decide if you will take that advice.'

Generally, we do not talk about crimes planned ever or crimes committed until the legal system has come to a conclusion on the matter.

You can expect such threads to be deleted, sometimes with a PM to the Original Poster.

Alex Kincaid is licensed to practice law in Idaho and Oregon, not in California.

I am not currently looking for a lawyer, nor am I planning on needing one. BUT: in the event I do, thanks for this thread.

I live in OC, so Bruce, Chuck, and Jason are all “local” to me (Jason is VERY local). Would there be reasons to choose one of these over the other two? Different specialties/expertise? If I ever find myself needing one, I want to be ready because I won’t be in the right frame of mind then. What questions would I ask these three to determine best fit for whatever my situation is?

The link is valid. It takes you to Rothschild Wishek & Sands LLP where I now work. Neither I, nor the firm, handle civil issues.
