I did it almost 30 years ago and when I retired from my real job I moved and my FFL went with me. I went through the changes in CA and they only got worse for the FFL, and I look for them to get worse yet, that’s their plan. Knowing what I know now I would not do it again in CA. There is more BS state wise then Fed wise. When I first moved and starting doing transfers I thought I was doing something wrong, it’s so simple now not dealing with CA’s ever changing BS. If you plan on doing it have another form of income, you won’t get rich being a small time FFL.

Pack your stuff up. Move East 350 miles and open your store in a state that doesn’t actively try and put you out of business.

Might not be far enough. Too many Kalifornians moving east, they infected the Nevada legislature with the Creeping Kalifornia Crud mindset.
NV passed a bill where all sales must go through a FFL01, PPT or retail. What's next? |
