It was three. It's now no limit, people are being told this at the Sheriffs office when they go in. I don't think they have updated their main public page. You still must qualify with each.

I confirm this. I asked the clerk when I picked up my renewal permit, she said no limit.

Is the credit card sized permit good to go now? Or are they still issuing the larger permit?

Thanks

They issue both, you have to carry the rice paper one. Credit card type is not recognized/accepted by Kalifornistan yet.

I just completed my required 8-hour CCW class this weekend, and none of us in the class knew about this change beforehand, so everyone just had 3 handguns to qualify with. Oh well.

I’ve also heard 5.
Ask CSACANNONEER, he teaches a class.

I had qualified with only 3 guns on my renewal also. I would have added another gun if I only knew at the time of my renewal training.

Both of you are incorrect.

When I picked up my renewal permit on August 24th, I asked the clerk how many guns can I put on the permit and to my surprise, she said we do not have a limit.
Also, If you look at Sheriff website CCW section “Frequently Asked Questions” the number of guns question is no longer there.

Listening to the last SDCGO CCW "class" on Facebook they said you will get more than one card (the one the state has not approved yet) issued to you if you have more than four, as only four will fit on the card.

Ok, so my question is, if there is now no limit, how are any LEO supposed to verify per say, which firearm is legit on your permit if there is only room for four firearms? Or are they gonna issue two cards showing all 12 different firearms you wanna now carry for concealed carry...?

Since there is now no limit and there is only now room for four firearms, doesn't that defeat the purpose of having more firearms on the actual permit.

If I'm carrying a .1911 and it's not specifically stated on my permit for me to carry as there's only room for four to be printed...I'm now carrying a firearm illegally on my person because they "don't have room" to add it in print...but they're now saying "no limit"

I think I would want that notarized stating that with my permit so I don't get into any trouble since I'd now be carrying it illegally. Don't mean to sound crude or hijack this thread but thats a serious issue I would have.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be very thankful to now have the option to carry more variety than just the three. Peace out...live large and stay hard...

I just looked at my credit card type one, it appeared that it would fit five weapons.
